Aiden’s driver, a former special forces soldier, reacted with lightning speed, maneuvering their car safely out of the way.
However, the police car wasn’t as fortunate. Despite attempting evasive action, they were constrained by surrounding vehicles
and had limited room to maneuver.
The van seemed to target the police car deliberately, accelerating without concern for the consequences, aiming for its rear.
If anyone had been able to see inside, they would have discovered Rose behind the wheel!
Her face and body were wrapped in bandages, some areas still seeping blood–a horrifying sight.
Rose had lost her mind, with no will to live. She wanted to die and take Hazel with her!
When Julian and Maverick withdrew her sponsorship, her meager savings weren’t enough for proper reconstructive surgery.
Even after selling all the gifts they had given her, she couldn’t afford the best doctors, and the results were mediocre at best.
The doctors told her recovery would take time, and her injuries weren’t actually that severe.
But Rose couldn’t accept her disfigured appearance.
Upon returning to Stanford, she could feel the contemptuous and disgusted looks people gave her.
She couldn’t bear to remain ugly.
So she paid for cosmetic surgery.
But unfortunately, she was scammed–halfway through the procedure, the clinic was shut down, leaving her face ruined and her skin damaged.
Due to excessive absences, the university repeatedly warned her before finally expelling her.
She had nothing left. But why should Hazel get to have everything?
So she decided to risk it all and make everyone regret what they’d done!
Seeing Hazel speaking with the police and agreeing to give a statement, she quickly got into her prepared vehicle.
Rose drove the dilapidated van straight into the police car.
However, she never anticipated that the people in the backseat weren’t Hazel but Julian and Maverick.
She crashed into them with full force, causing the entire rear of the police car to cave in.
The back window shattered, and Júlian, Maverick, and the officer all lost consciousness.
Blood flowed freely from undetermined wounds, turning the police car crimson.
Rose, in the old van, suffered a head injury and passed out in the driver’s seat.

Immediately, ambulances and police cars arrived with sirens blaring,
Even Hazel felt shaken, quickly asking Aiden if he was alright.
He pulled her into his arms, patting her reassuringly.
“It’s okay. We’re fine, and they’ll be okay too.”
After giving statements at the police station, they waited outside the emergency room for the Blackwell and Stone families to arrive.
They felt obligated to stay, as former friends would.
Several days later, Maverick finally regained consciousness.
He had been fortunate, suffering only relatively minor injuries. Since he had already collapsed before the crash, with an officer protecting him, his most serious injury was a broken leg.
But Julian and the officer in the backseat weren’t as lucky.
Glass from the window had penetrated Julian’s head–a critical injury. Though not life–threatening, the long–term consequences remained uncertain.
The officer’s entire back was pierced with glass, causing internal bleeding in several organs. His condition was critical.
Rose suffered a concussion and both her legs were broken.
After all, it had been a vehicle destined for the scrapyard, providing little protection.
