Chapter 21
One day, I happened to be shopping for handbags in a luxury store. That was when I saw Tanner entering the store with a rich lady who seemed to be in her 40s and knew how to pamper herself well.
After the rich lady sat down, Tanner began massaging her shoulders before moving down to her calves. Occasionally, he’d bark out orders at the saleswoman. Either the lemonade that was served was too warm, or the coffee had gone cold.
Once the rich lady was done putting on airs in the store, she drew out a black card.
“Show me all the latest products you have. Also, I want you to pick out two outfits for him.”
Today was a Sunday, so there was a massive crowd in the mall. I quickly took photos from multiple angles and made sure to include the photos my private investigator had sent to me some time ago. Then, I compiled everything and sent them to a certain number. I even made sure to include the coordinates.
Soon, the rich lady went to try on the new clothes. Tanner placed down the coffee cup before moving to stand in front of me.
He adjusted his cuffs while asking, “Did you see that?”
I merely shot him a glance. “The way you massaged her earlier? Yeah, I saw everything clearly. Why do you ask?”
“You little… It’s not like you’re the only woman out there for me! You must’ve seen the way Amanda treasures me! Soon, I’ll be able to start my own business successfully!
“Amanda has already promised to give me a sum of money! Sooner or later, I’ll wipe the floor with you and your family!”
“It’s a big, big world out here, Tanner. Take care not to bite your own tongue, yeah? By the way, your precious Amanda has already left the fitting room. She’s glaring at you right now.”
Tanner left in a hurry. I could hear Amanda’s shrieks from a distance away. Tanner looked like he was treading on eggshells around her. He dared not refute Amanda at all, which made him look like a total coward.
Both of them stayed in the store for more than half an hour. When Tanner was finally done slinging all the shopping bags, the rich lady went over to pay for her purchase, only to find out that the black card had already been frozen.
At that moment, three muscular young men strode into the store. They didn’t hesitate to pin Tanner down and start beating him up. Since Tanner was surrounded, all he could do was shield his head.
Once the men were done with the punishment, they approached Amanda. “Mr. Kellogg wants you to go home right now.”
After that, they tossed a stack of photos to the floor before leaving the store.
Amanda was scared shitless by what happened. Once she managed to regain her senses, she quickly left the store as well.
Tanner was left lying on the floor. No one dared to approach him.
When the people in the mall saw the photos strewn across the floor, they quickly covered their eyes.
“Oh god, my eyes!”
By then, some people had already raised their phones to record everything.
The photos were taken in a hotel room. There were supposed to be two people being intimate with each other in the room, but only Tanner was revealed thanks to the edits that were made.
I approached Tanner at that moment. “Didn’t you confidently declare that you planned on wiping the floor with me and my family just now, Mr. Rosenbloom? How on earth did you get wiped out by someone else this quickly?”
Tanner raised his head to glare at me resentfully. “Pearl Rosenbloom, it’s way too early for you to get cocky!”
“Alright. I should know better than to argue with a patient anyway.”
“What do you mean by that?”
I covered my mouth while looking shocked. “Wait… Don’t tell me you don’t know that Amanda is…”
“What’s wrong with her?” Tanner’s expression darkened immediately.
“You… You should get a physical check-up soon.”
Tanner began panicking instantly. He clambered up to his feet while mumbling, “No way… This can’t be…”
A busybody happened to upload this incident on the Internet.
Maisie’s parents could no longer sit by and watch Tanner do whatever he wanted. Their own daughter was still suffering in prison, and yet her jerk of a boyfriend was having the time of his life screwing around with other women.
Soon, they showed up at Tanner’s home with a few guys.
“Back then, Maisie had taken the blame for all of the crimes because she was counting on you to save her! What the hell have you been doing all this time, you useless bastard?
“Oh, my poor daughter! She got sentenced to ten years of imprisonment! Ten freaking years, damn it!”
I finally understood what happened at this point.
Back then, both Maisie and Tanner had been reborn. Maisie decided to shoulder the blame for all of the crimes to get out of jail as soon as possible.
She felt that Tanner would be able to become the same influential CEO who had dominated Aldonpolis in their past lives after one year, at most. That was why she chose to let Tanner get out of jail first… all for the sake of the 200-million-dollar wedding she had been dreaming about.

Mrs. Reilly could only watch her own son getting beaten up. At this point, she couldn’t stand up at all because of her crippled legs. All she could do was worry from the sidelines.
“Stop it! Stop beating up my son! Your daughter was the one who decided to take all the blame in the first place! This isn’t my son’s fault at all!”
Maisie’s mother was so furious that her eyes had already gone bloodshot. “You think your son’s a good egg, huh? Didn’t you see the news on the Internet?
“Amanda Giles was revealed to be infected with AIDS! Your son has been fucking that woman for months! He’s doomed! At this rate, he doesn’t have much longer
to live!”
Mrs. Reilly kept glaring at Maisie’s mother angrily. Her chest heaved rapidly for quite sometime before her emotions finally got to her, resulting in her collapse.
“Mom!”
After that, Mrs. Reilly passed away from a heart attack. Tanner couldn’t handle the pressure anymore, so he jumped off the hospital roof and was reduced to a
vegetable.
I recalled the time when he had pushed me off the rooftop in my past life. As expected, karma would always be there to deal with the aftermath. After getting reborn, I finally made Tanner pay for what he had done.
