Chapter 9
Bland Bland Pisod:
The beast inside snarled and shed hungrily, seeking to devour the gut before me. I could smell her fear. I could almost faste it and usually, I fovisd fear 1 foved the smell that filled people when they were terrified of me. It fed the beast inside and made me pleased.
Excel hers
Her eyes were wide and the let out a whimper. My brows furrowed and I let go of her neck. That sound struck a chord inside me. Why did it make me feel
And how the hell did she get that wound? I could smell the remnants of weak silver on her. It must be a knife wound. Who would attack someone as weak
and harmless as she was?
“A–Alpha.” She sniffed, bowing her head low.
Fuck, was she crying?
“Look at me!” I barked without meaning to yell but fuck, I couldn’t help it. My wolf was starting to prance about to my head agitated at the thought of her
crying.
We rejected her, I reminded him and he growled.
I know. But why is she crying? Did we scare her?
I took one look at her wet cheeks and stepped away from her like she burned me. I walked ahead quickly, wanting to forget the image of a lone tear rolling down that perfect, porcelain skin. If I hadn’t walked away, I would have touched her.
Why should i give a shit about a pathetic omega with all that dark energy oozing out of her? I shouldn’t.
She’s our mate. Weak or not, she’s ours. The beast inside snarled.
Do not forget she is our doom too!
He went silent after that while I stormed out of my palace to the meeting with the ministers. I tried to calm the surging through my veins. My bones felt like they were going to come apart so I clenched my fists together to hold back the shifting. The smell of her blood was so delicious, it pushed and
taunted me.
I cannot shift now. Shape shifting was a curse I was born with and so were my brothers. We all had a curse that burned in our veins and made us the monsters that people thought us to be. I couldn’t shift now, many people could get hurt and frankly, I didn’t want another murder on my neck.
When I walked into the meeting, everyone rose on their feet, while I took my place at the head of the table among my brothers.
“What happened to you? You’re struggling to hold back,” Daniel’s voice popped in my head. As quadruplets, we could communicate telepathically with one another. It came in very handy during battles and made us undefeatable. “Your eyes, brother.”
“Nothing,” I replied coldly, keeping a poker face before all the ministers. “It’s nothing.”
I felt a sharp tug in my brain and glanced at Danjel who stared at me intensely.
“If you’re trying to read into my memories, knock it off.”
He grumbled under his breath but stopped trying to pry. Daniel’s gift was reading people’s minds and prying into their memories. I was fine with him doing that shit to other people, but never to me. That was intrusive as hell.

Chapter 9
“What are you two talking about?” Declan joined in the mental conversation. “You guys shunned us out of the link, right Damon?”
Damon only gave a grunt in response.
“Mind your business, brother,” Daniel quipped, and we didn’t have to see his face to know he was grinning.
I’ll show you how to mind your business.”
“That’s enough. The minsters are speaking. Are we here to rule a pack or here to bicker like bitches?”
There was silence in my head for a while until Declan spoke.
“Fuck you man,”
The rest of my brothers laughed while I sighed, zoning in on the minister currently speaking. Cassius had been quite a responsible minister when compared to the others.
“The forces on the garrisons have been strengthened, but the construction of old pack houses have been put on hold.”
“And why is that? What about the engineers and architects that were supposed to arrive?”
Minister Cassius cleared his throat awkwardly. “They refused to come. They claim that the moon eclipse is fast approaching and it would be… Dangerous for them to come to the Night moon pack.”
Murmurs exploded in the air. There was an uneasy feeling in my chest but of course I made sure never to show it. To show emotion is to give people the upper hand.
“What insult?!” Declan bellowed, glaring Cassius down. “Did you tell them the four brothers asked for them specifically?”
“Yes Alpha,” Cassius replied, bowing.
“I’d say we find them brother,” Declan growled. “And cut off their dicks. That’ll teach them!”
“Well can you blame them?!” A very familiar voice rang in the air and I sighed, watching Orion rise on his feet. I’d love to knock his teeth out, then use his face as a fucking mopping stick. But an Alpha shouldn’t be so barbaric, should he?
“Everyone knows what happens in the pack during the moon eclipse,” He continued speaking, waving his hands around. “These are indeed perilous times.”
“What do you mean, Orion?” Severus, another minister quipped. “We’ve had nine years of peace. We’ve been fine in the past few years, there’s no point in saying that now.”
“Then you are a fool, Severus,” Orion shot back. “You seem to forget that we’ve had exactly nine years of peace. This is the tenth year. The TENTH year of the moon eclipse. Shall I remind you what happened exactly ten years ago?”
The mumuring in the hall increased. I could hear every word spoke and judging from the taut expression on my brothers faces, I knew they could too.
“That’s true,” A minister whispered. “It happens every ten years.”
“Every tenth eclipse, the Alphas become the demon of the worlds they are,”
“And that single night will put every pack member into turmoil. If we do survive that is.”
“No one will remember the nine years of peace, if that happens.”
“Oh you mean, when that happens? Cause it’s definitely happening.”
I clenched my fist, wishing I could lunge across the room and smash Orion’s mouth. I should have done that yesterday. I and my brothers have lived with night mares of ten years ago, wishing to completely forget. And yet, here he was, waving it in our faces.

The bastard had the nerve to smirk at me. “So eager to go back to fuck that girl from yesterday?”
Gods, the bastard just didn’t know when to stop, did he?
“I’m sure you’ll grow tired of her and kill her at some point. We both know how people irritate you and how you can resist using your power…” He trailed of because his pants had suddenly dropped to the floor leaving him in his underwear. The ministers chuckled at the sight while Orion’s face reddened in
anger.
“Ha!” Theard Declan snicker in my head and knew he was behind this. His power was telekinesis. He could move things with his mind.
“Do you have anything to say again, Orion?” I asked and he shook his head, terribly ashamed.
Good. Serves him right indeed. I rose on my feet along with my brothers.
“This meeting is then adjourned,”
“And the next time you defy my brother’s orders, Orion,” Declan added, his voice booming through the halls. “I’ll make you suffer. And then I’ll kill you.”
I grinned at those words. Declan had always been the most unforgiving one among us.
