Chapter 7
After moving to my new home, I kept flipping through Nora’s photo album, page after page, again and again. I never grew tired of it.
At night, I hugged Nora’s favorite stuffed animal, imagining she was still by my side.]
“Mommy! Tell Nora a story; Nora wants to hear a story,” I heard Nora’s innocent voice in a daze. I saw her lying beside me. Overjoyed, I quickly grabbed a storybook and started telling her the tale of *Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs*. But as I continued, Nora’s figure faded away.[]
“Nora!” I shouted, suddenly sitting up, only to realize it was just a dream. My pillow was soaked with tears. rs.
Unable to fall back asleep, I began flipping through Nora’s album again, sitting there until dawn.
Buzz, buzz! My phone vibrated–a call from an unknown number. I answered, and Steven’s hoarse, weak voice came through, “Isabelle, I don’t want a divorce…”
“Get lost! You disgusting beast!” I hung up immediately.[]
But Steven refused to give up. He called again and again, pleading and crying, insisting he didn’t want a divorce. I called him a scoundrel, but he said he would cling to me for the rest of his life. He even said that if I sued, he wasn’t afraid–he’d hire the best legal team to keep me with him.]
I thought Steven was crazy. He had treated me like garbage before, but now he was shamelessly trying to win me back. It was revolting! Disgusting! Did he think this would move me? Ridiculous![]
Knowing how well–connected Steven was, I decided to ensure the success of the divorce case by reaching out to a relationship TV show. I shared my story as a guest, revealing everything I had been through.[]
