Chapter 2
I slowly made my way forward in a starlit gown.
The interview session.
Damian, as the largest investor, was also present at the event.
As soon as the reporters spotted him, they flocked over in a frenzy.
“Mr. Howard, we’ve heard that you’re playing the lead role this time, is it for your girlfriend?”
“Violet’s always so busy with work, so it’s up to me to create time for us to be together.”
“Mr. Howard, Howard Films is investing two hundred million in a new movie next year. Do you
have any strategic plans for this?”
“If Violet wants to make a movie, I invest in it.”
“Mr. Howard…”
As the reporters bombarded him with questions,
Damian held my hand, answering with a happy smile.
The phrase “Wealthy families produce romantic souls” instantly topped the trending searches.
Online comments:
“I thought he was all about money, and she was just about looks. Turns out, it’s real love!”
“A business tycoon who controls the winds and rain in A City, yet he’s just a romantic fool.”
“He loves her so much, I can’t even dare to dream of a love like that…”
After the event, I was sitting down, gently rubbing my swollen, sore ankle.
Then, the man reached out to steady me.
Molet, don’t move. Let me carry you to the car.”
After Being Betrayed, I Married His Half–brother
Ilightly waved my hand, speaking softly, “It’s fine, I can still walk.”
Without giving me a chance to protest, Damian scooped me up in his arms.
“No, with me here, you won’t suffer even the slightest pain.”
I didn’t refuse again.
After he carried me to the car, my phone buzzed with a message notification.
It was from the private investigator I had hired.
“Mr. Howard was absent from the office this morning. He went to the maternity center.”
Then, below the message, a five–second video appeared.
In the video, Damian was clumsily yet carefully changing a baby’s diaper.
A nurse stood by, praising him: “It’s rare to see such a dedicated father…”
Meanwhile, the car’s built–in TV was broadcasting entertainment news about Damian, the romantic heir of a wealthy family.
I stared at the screen, quietly listening to the host praise our relationship, feeling a sharp disconnection.
Damian, can your heart really fit two people?
