It would be better to discuss this in person at the office, but Ashley was a two–hour drive away Inspiration couldn’t be paused; if they stopped, they might lose it. They decided on a video call Mark took a moment to ask, “You’re alone in your room? What about your husband and the others?”
“I don’t know, probably having dinner,” Ashley replied indifferently.
“Just him and your daughter?”
Tanya and Ethan are there too.”
“And they leave you alone in your room?”
“They asked me to eat downstairs. I refused.”
“Well, that’s something. Chase still has a conscience.”
Ashley didn’t think so. Like Ethan, she suspected he just didn’t want to deal with Grandma Besides, even if she went downstairs, everyone was on Tanya’s side. They weren’t worried about SO they didn’t mind her joining them for dinner. Tanya being “bullied,” Ashley and Mark worked for four hours straight. It was getting close to dinner again; they decided to take a break, resuming in two hours.
