The next day, Ashley and Cindy, elegantly dressed, arrived at the auction. Their attire wasn’t extravagant, but their striking beauty drew attention as they entered the hall. Cindy, a regular at auctions and a prominent figure in the social circle, was recognized by many. Ashley, however, was a new face, prompting speculation about her family background.
Their seats were in the middle–rear section. They weren’t early. A few minutes after they sat down, the auction was about to begin. Then, a commotion erupted in the front rows. Ashley and Cindy looked over.
Ashley stiffened after hearing what had happened.
Cindy:“It’s Chase and Tanya… They’re here too.” She asked Ashley, “Did you know they were coming?”
Ashley shook her head. She hadn’t expected him to be there, and he hadn’t told her. After the last banquet and the tech expo, Tanya’s profile in high society had risen significantly. When she and Chase appeared, many focused on her.
