Tim shrugged.“Don’t thank me, thank yourself.” He’d sent the core concepts of Ashley’s project to Nan Zhizhi after they’d finalized it. Nan Zhizhi, extremely busy, hadn’t responded for over a week. Ashley froze, turning to see Chase approaching. He walked calmly to Grandma Rong.“Happy birthday.” He presented a gift box.“I wasn’t sure if you liked the previous gift, so I prepared another one. I hope you like this.”
Grandma Rong’s smile vanished. But with guests present, she calmly accepted the gift, maintaining a polite distance.“Thank you. That was thoughtful.” She then asked a waiter,“Please add a chair and place setting.”
