They walked toward Ashley and Tim.“Mr. Reed, these are…”
Tim looked up, raising an eyebrow.“Mr. Ren, Mr. Yao, and Ms. Lin.”
Ashley, having only glanced at Ren Jifeng, hadn’t noticed Tanya. Hearing Tim mention “Ms. Lin,” she assumed it was her. She didn’t look up, continuing her work.
Zhang smiled.“Mr. Reed, you know Mr. Ren and Mr. Yao?”
“Yes,” Tim replied. They were all from the city’s elite circles. They simply moved in differen circles.
Ren Jifeng and Yao Xinbo exchanged greetings with Tim and joined Zhang to discuss work. Tanya remained with Tim. She saw Ashley but quickly looked away, focusing on Tim.“Mr. Reed, did you just arrive?”
Even though Tim’s bias towards her was evident in his aloofness, she still wanted to build a relationship with him–she anticipated they’d spend more time together once she became Nan Zhizhi’s student.
“About half an hour ago,” Tim replied casually, writing notes.“You seem to have been here a while, Ms. Lin.”
The “a while” clearly referred to Chase’s office.
Tim paused, his tone colder.“Really? So Mr. Sterling is here?”
“No, he’s at Sterling Corp.”
