Zark gripped his phone. Ethan was about to continue when Zark interrupted.“I have something to do. I’ll call you back.” He hung up.
“What’s so urgent?” Ethan mumbled as Zark found Ashley’s number. He hesitated but then dialed.
She’d just arrived home. Seeing his call, she answered, “Mr. He, something you need?” He hesitated; it was inappropriate for him to inquire about her and Chase. He couldn’t even ask, “Are you alright?”
Ashley, thinking he was calling about Dandan, said, “If it’s about Dandan, I’m busy tomorrow. How about the day after or next week?” Tim had arranged a lawyer for tomorrow. She needed to
finalize the divorce.
