Ashley didn’t reply to Ren Yi’an until the next morning. Ren Yi’an had expected this, anticipating that she would consult Nan Zhizhi.

Ren Jifeng arrived at Longmo that afternoon. Ashley had already informed Tim about Ren Yi’an’s call. Tim kept him waiting for over an hour before seeing him. Ren Jifeng was serious about the collaboration; his new proposal was even better than the last. Tim remained cold, though.“It’s a deal.”
Ren Jifeng shook his hand.“The sooner the better.” He didn’t hold any personal prejudice against Tim.“It’s getting late. Dinner? We can discuss the next steps.”
Tim smiled.“Sure. But Ashley will join us. Mr. Ren won’t mind?”
Ren Jifeng thought Tim’s agreement was due to Ren Yi’an contacting Nan Zhizhi, who then contacted Tim. He didn’t care about Ashley; while he disliked her, he could set aside his feelings
as Mrs. Sterling for the
