After they ordered, Ren Jifeng casually ordered a couple of dishes and began discussing business with Tim. The dishes started arriving.
Tim’s comment about not being shy turned out to be less of a joke than Ren Jifeng thought. The table was overflowing with food, the most expensive dishes on the menu, and Ren Jifeng felt a headache coming on.
Tim ignored his expression, constantly serving Ashley.“Ashley, eat slowly. No rush.” Ashley nodded. “Okay.”
Ren Jifeng inwardly groaned. Tim was clearly trying to annoy him, but neither of them cared about the cost.
They started discussing the project seriously. Ashley ate quietly, only occasionally interjecting with insightful comments.
Ren Jifeng was surprised; her comments were constructive. She actually had skills. He’d assumed she was clinging to Tim, that she was the pursuer. But their dynamic seemed reversed. Perhaps this was her secret weapon. Tim wouldn’t be so infatuated without Ashley possessing some genuine ability.
