After greeting the guests, Ji Lao retired to his private quarters. Ashley, Tim, Chase, Zark, the Lins, and the Suns followed. The large number of guests made the Lins and Suns seem unremarkable.

Afterward, Ji Lao praised Ashley’s grandmother’s painting. Ji Lao and his friends began discussing painting techniques. Ashley and Tim didn’t interrupt but remained in the veranda, enjoying tea and refreshments. They were far from the Lins and Suns, avoiding eye contact. Unless you knew better, you wouldn’t have noticed their acquaintance. Chase, meanwhile, was with Tanya, Zark, Ethan, and Ren Jifeng. As peers and members of the same circles, it was natural for them to converse.
