Although Eternal had secured partnerships with Jeffery and Zark, Tim still hadn’t found the right partner for part of his business. To find them quickly, increase company exposure, and boost growth, Eternal held an investor conference. It started Monday morning. After dropping Sam off at school, Ashley drove to the hotel. Tim and others were already there. Ashley, as a core technical expert, would give a presentation and answer media questions. She and Tim reviewed the schedule backstage. Zark arrived, followed by Jeffery. Twenty minutes later, Tim and Ashley took the stage. Jeffery listened attentively to Tim, but frowned when Ashley spoke. Why was Tim leaving the product and technology introduction to her?
Ashley didn’t
pay attention to Jeffery. Her presentation and answers were excellent, showing no stage fright.
From the moment Ashley stepped onto the stage, Jeffery zoned out, assuming Eternal had prepared a script for her. He glanced at Zark, who was intently focused on Ashley and listening carefully.
Jeffery was speechless. He merely thought Zark was good at acting.
After the conference, Ashley and Tim were busy. Jeffery had a meeting at Speed in the afternoon, so he left after greeting Tim.
When Jeffery arrived at Speed, Chase wasn’t there yet. Jeffery headed towards Tanya’s office, hearing lively chatter. Mr. Walter greeted him.
Jeffery nodded. Tanya looked up.“Chase should be here in ten minutes. Please wait for a while. Jeffery thought they must be really close if Chase kept her informed.“I know, his secretary told me.” He changed the subject.“It seems lively today. A celebration?”
Walter immediately said, “We were stuck on a technical issue for over a week, and then Miss Mond solved it, allowing us to proceed. Everyone is ecstatic!”
Someone chimed in,“We should really thank Miss Mond! A world–class university doctorate makes all the difference!”
“Absolutely.”
Jeffery already knew Tanya was excellent, but seeing it firsthand was impressive. He smiled at her.“Congratulations.”
Tanya smiled faintly.“Thank you. But it’s not entirely my work. Chase has taught me a lo. I wouldn’t have grown so fast without him.” They thought she was being humble. The team returned to work. Tanya knew about Eternal’s conference but had been too busy to watch it. She searched for the video while asking Jeffery, “Did you attend Eternal’s conference this morning?”
Jeffery said, “Yes.”
Watching Ashley’s segment, he observed Tanya’s face. She looked calm, showing no dislike or annoyance towards Ashley. Remembering Ashley’s hostility towards Tanya on Christmas, Jeffery felt Ashley was a little too small–minded. He wanted to say something, but Tanya remained focused.
Walter joined them.“I watched Eternal’s conference. Their technology is impressive.”

Jeffery didn’t know a lot about technology, but he knew Eternal was excellent. Seeing Tanya watch Tim’s segment, he said, “With you around, Speed might develop even more advanced technology.”
Tanya smiled faintly.“Mr. Cooper, you’re flattering me. I’m far behind Mr. Reed.” Jeffery thought she was being humble.“Don’t sell yourself short-”
“I didn’t,” Tanya said.“Learning from Mr. Burke has always been my dream. I met him recently, but I failed to meet his standards to be his student.”
Jeffery was impressed by her honesty and ambition. He understood her focus on Tim was due to his achievements in AI and his connection to Burke.

you haven’t reached it, keep trying. With your abilities, I’m sure you’ll get what Tanya smiled. Before she could reply, Chase entered. “Sorry to keep you waiting, Mr. Cooper.”
“It’s okay. I arrived early.”
After brief pleasantries, Chase smiled at Tanya before going upstairs for work. Tanya was about to get back to work, but her phone rang. It was Mark.
Mark and others had watched Eternal’s conference. Seeing its success, and the potential billions in profit from those two projects, he was anxious. His company lacked core technology and was losing money. He wanted Tanya’s help. He knew Chase had been mentoring her. He wanted to know if she was ready to be Burke’s student.
