Chapter41
Kelly was cute and adorable. No one had ever called her ugly or disgusting. This was the first time. Kelly cried, clinging to Ashley.
Ashley hugged her.“You’re not disgusting; you’re pretty and cute. Don’t you think so?” Kelly calmed down. Seeing Ashley hugging and praising Kelly, Sam’s eyes reddened.“I don’t like you anymore! I don’t want you as my mom!” He tried to run away.
Ashley stopped him. She was angry but didn’t want to scold him publicly. She hugged him and
issed him.“Don’t be angry…”
He cried. “Don’t hug her or say she’s cute!”
She understood–he was jealous. He didn’t want her as his mom, but he didn’t want her to love someone else either. She found it amusing. She didn’t promise but soothed him, moving them away from the crowd.
Sam pushed Kelly out of Ashley’s arms. Kelly was afraid of Sam.
Ashley hugged Sam.“Sam, I know you’re cool, but people are different. Some like cool things, some like cute things. You can’t say someone ugly just because they’re different. We should respect others.”
Sam understood. He knew he was wrong. He just didn’t want Ashley to hug other children. Ashley ruffled his hair, wiping his tears.“It’s okay to make mistakes. But don’t say that again.” Sam calmed down, hugging her.“Okay.”
Ashley kissed his face and turned to Kelly. “Kelly, this is Sam, my son. He’s sorry. Will you forgive him?”
