The next day, Ashley didn’t make breakfast. Sam woke up, saw her beside him, and realized she slept with him. He quietly got up and went downstairs, seeing Chase. He yawned, “Dad, morning.”
Chase:“Hmm.”
“Mom’s still asleep.”
“Hmm.”
When Ashley got up, Chase had almost finished breakfast. They didn’t communicate; he left after eating. Ashley went to work on time. Sam was waiting in the car; Chase hadn’t returned. After twenty minutes, Sam frowned, “Dad’s slow.”
Ashley calmly read. The phone rang. The housekeeper said, “Sir said he’s busy and can’t come. He asked you and Sam to go to the resort; he’ll be there later.”
Ashley said indifferently, “Okay.” Chase said he’d be there later, but he didn’t show up that night.
