Chapter 10
Isaac was unwilling to divorce.
“Sophie, from now on. I’ll focus solely on being with you. Once you’ve healed from the pain of losing our daughter, we can have another child.”
“This time. I promise I’ll take good care of the child and you, and I won’t make the same mistakes.”
“As long as you agree not to divorce, I’ll accept any condition you set.” []
He still harbored the fantasy of rekindling our relationship.
I nodded. “I can agree to that.”
His eyes lit up, an immense joy filling him, and he seemed as if he might soar with happiness.
“As long as you bring Lily back to met
His smile froze.

In the next moment, he stood there as if shattered, stunned.
I felt nothing, no sympathy for him.
“Sign the papers. If you don’t, I’ll take it to court.” []
Realizing the firmness of my decision, he had no choice but to sign the divorce papers.
The moment I received the divorce certificate, 1 let out a long breath.
The mistakes of the past were finally over. []
And the right future had finally begun.
Christian called me to inform me that Mary had been diagnosed with a mental disorder. 0
She had gone mad. []
“If she’s insane, then send her to a mental hospital for treatment!”
I spoke indifferently, as if I had already begun to move past the pain of my daughter’s death. []
Christian felt relieved.
But little did he know, the moment I hung up, I contacted the director of the mental hospital, paying him handsomely to “Take good care” of the new patient.
I didn’t believe for a second that Mary was truly insane.
For someone who could commit such a monstrous act against a five–year–old, her mind couldn’t be that fragile. [
And even if she was truly mad, so what?
Does that mean the evil she committed would be wiped clean7
or that the pain she caused would lessert?
Dr
The hospital director was skilled at his job. Within ethical bounds, he arranged for Mary to have two very “Interesting”
neighbors.
Ones with violent tendencies. [
I didn’t bother to follow up on what happened to Mary after that. []
But three years later, I happened to hear that a female pallent at the mental hospital had evaded the staff’s watch, climbed to the rooftop, and jumped, her body unrecognizable after the fall.
On my thirtieth birthday, I received a very satisfying gift. [
I removed Isaac from the company and took his place as CEO.
The company he and my brother had built was now mine, with no ties left to him.
Isaac cherished that company as his lifeline.
For him, this was a punishment worse than death.
The day []
he left the company, it was pouring rain outsi
It was eerily similar to the day our daughter died. []
Half an hour later, I received a message from him.
[]
“Congratulations on getting what you wanted. I wish you happiness and peace for the rest of your life!”
I glanced at it briefly and then deleted it.
Just as I had with all his previous messages–cleared and erased.
At the time, I didn’t know this would be his last message.
Nor did I know that he sent it while he was critically injured in a car accident.
Isaac died.
He died in a car accident during a heavy storm.
Just like our daughter.
Perhaps this was what people mean when they say some things are destined
Love Story4–Chapter 1
“How to Balance Between me and my husband After Eight Years of Marriage Without a
I’ve asked this question anonymously many times online, but the responses have varied widely. However, this is something I’ve experienced firsthand.
Despite being married to my husband Jack for eight years, we haven’t been able to have a child. We’ve dreamed of starting a family and have visited countless doctors and traveled to many cities in search of a solution. Each time we underwent an examination, the doctors found no issues with either of us, yet we remained unable to conceive. Our frustration grew, and 1 became Increasingly despondent. Our once passionate relationship began to wane, and I even considered the possibility of divorce.
Then, unexpectedly, at the age of twenty–nine, I discovered I was pregnant. I was thrilled and eagerly showed the pregnancy test to Jack, hoping he would share in the Joy of this long awaited news. To my astonishment, he barely glanced at it and his expression darkened
“You’re pregnant? Whose child is 17 he asked, his voice cold and accusing.
I was stunned. “Jack, what are you talking about? It can only be your child.“]
His suspicion and harshness cut me deeply. “After all this time with no pregnancy and now suddenly you’re expecting? Doesn’t that seem a bit suspicious?”
His words left me speechless, and tears streamed down my face. The joy I had felt moments before vanished in an instant. Jack slammed the door as he left, intensifying the already heavy atmosphere at home.[]
Determined to hurt me, Jack started flaunting his new relationship with a beautiful secretary. They appeared together at events and banquets, and their relationship was all over social media. I endured the pregnancy alone, attending check ups and facing five months of it by myself. After the 4D ultrasound, I went for an amniocentesis.]
When the results came in, I confronted Jack with the paternity test results. Feeling a mix of defiance and resignation, I told him, “Jack, if you refuse to acknowledge this child, I’ll have an abortion tomorrow. Maybe this baby just isn’t meant to be ours.“]
Within minutes of sending the message, Jack called me urgently. Soon after, I received a notification from bank–a transfer of two million dollar.
“Honey, I was wrong. Take care of yourself and the baby. I’ll come back home as soon as my business trip is over. You must have this child!“]
