Chapter 4
Under everyone’s shocked gaze, I raised my hand and slapped Matthew Harrison hard across the face.
Smack!
The sharp sound of the slap echoed, Instantly silencing the chaotic crowd.]
Everyone stared at me, wide–eyed, clearly not expecting someone they thought was a despised murderer to have the audacity to strike first, right in front of them.]
“You hit me?” Matthew glared at me, clutching his face in dishelter.
Completely unfazed, I replied. “Didn’t you just accuse me of beating people every day? I’m just giving you a single slap. and you’re this shocked?”
The livestream chat exploded:
“Whoa, she’s insane!”
“This woman is the boldest person I’ve ever seen!“]
“How powerful must she be to hit someone in front of everyone after all this?”
“No wonder her daughter died–imagine living with someone like that!”
Matthew quickly realized how bad his reaction looked, and he immediately shifted into a pitiful expression.
“I knew you wouldn’t forgive me for speaking the truth. But if you’re angry, take it out on me, not my family.“]
I let out a cold laugh, mocking him. “Matthew, your acting skills are impressive. No wonder you managed to fool me for over twenty years.”
Matthew hesitated, visibly confused. “What are you talking about?”
I replied coldly, “You know exactly what I mean, Matthew. Do you think you’ve treated me right?”
Matthew frowned slightly, unsure how to respond.]
“What have I done wrong to you? You’ve been abusing me and our daughter every day, and I wasn’t even allowed to speak up about it.”
“You killed our daughter and grandchild, and now you’re blaming me?”
Matthew’s pitiful performance quickly moved the crowd, and they began shouting at me:
“She thought she could get away with it, but the truth always comes out!”
“Exactly! Her daughter died, and the first thing she does is blame her husband. What kind of person does that?
“She’s disgusting. Why is she still breathing?”]
Chapt
The livestream comments were equally filled with insults, everyone condemning me.]
Ignoring the mob, I stared straight at Matthew and said. “We’ve been married for over 20 years, and I’ve never looked down on you for coming from a poor family.”
“You wanted to invest? I gave you the money. You wanted to start a company? I handed over one of mine for you to
manage.
“For years, I’ve given you everything you asked for, turning you from a small–town nobody into a respected CEO. Your family has been living large, all thanks to me.”
“And what about you?”
I turned and pointed to Victoria, raising my voice.]
“All this time, while enjoying everything I’ve provided, you’ve been sneaking around with her, my so–called best friend!“]
The look on Matthew’s face flashed with panic.
Before he could respond, Victoria rushed over and yelled, “Charlotte, enough!”
“You’ve already killed your daughter and grandchild. Now you’re going to start throwing wild accusations at us?”
“You’re only attacking us because we exposed the truth about you!”
“This is how you think you’ll shift the blame? You can’t clear your name with lies, and you won’t wash away the fact that you’re a murderer!”
Victoria’s voice rang with righteous fury, as if she were truly disgusted with me.
I looked at her coldly and replied, “Ties?”
Then, I pulled out a stack of documents.
“Let’s show everyone whether or not I’m making anything up.”
