Chapter 4
Chapter 4
“Impossible!”
“Absolutely impossible!”
“Everyone says daughters look like their fathers. Heidi doesn’t look like me, and her
personality isn’t like mine either. There’s no way she’s my child!”
Eleanor grabbed the paternity test report, glanced at it, and tore it up.
“Russell, don’t be fooled by this woman. This report must be fake! She just wants to split the
assets with you!”
She then took out a divorce agreement from her bag and handed it to me:
“Sign it.”
Eleanor looked at me provocatively, her eyes filled with smugness:
“After the divorce, while you’re still young enough, go have a child or two with your lover.
Don’t drag Russell down anymore!”
I took the divorce agreement. As expected, it left me with nothing.
I looked up at Russell:
“Is this what you want too?”
He didn’t confirm, but he didn’t deny it either.
Of course, a man who remained unmoved by his own daughter’s death wouldn’t show me
any mercy either.
Just as well–I wasn’t planning to show him any mercy either.
“We were married for years, so I’ll be generous. I’ll give you two hours to pack your things
and get out.”

Chapter 4
“And make sure you take all of that bastard’s stuff with you!”
Before I could make a move, Russell was already eager to kick me out.
Eleanor, acting as if she were the lady of the house, strutted around before arrogantly ordering me:
“Take down all the photos of that cursed child!”
“If you don’t, don’t blame Furry if he destroys everything!”
Sensing something was wrong, I rushed to the room upstairs.
The dog was tearing through my daughter’s room, biting everything in sight.
Her favorite Elsa doll, her handmade crafts–everything was shredded to pieces.
Even the family portrait she drew was stained with the dog’s yellow, foul–smelling urine.
Seeing this, I felt a surge of rage.
Heidi had lost her life because of this dog, and now even her belongings were being
destroyed by it.
Enough was enough.
I grabbed my daughter’s golf club and began hitting the dog furiously.
The dog’s cries mixed with Eleanor’s screams echoed through the house.
Blinded by anger, all I wanted was to kill that dog to vent my fury.
The blood from the dog stained my daughter’s favorite bunny slippers, making me lose all
control.
An overwhelming urge to destroy everything consumed me.
It wasn’t until Russell, trying to save the dog, got struck by the club and fell to the ground that I stopped.

“Russell! Are you okay?”
“Tessa, you vicious woman! How dare you hit my Furry? I’ll make you pay for this!”
Eleanor, choosing the dog over Russell, held it in her arms, crying hysterically.

Russell’s expression showed a hint of surprise, but he quickly comforted Eleanor with a géntle voice:
“Eleanor, don’t cry. We’ll take Furry to the pet hospital right away!”
“Furry, hang in there. Daddy won’t let anything happen to you!”
Daddy?
Ha.
His own daughter was a “bastard,” but a dog that caused her death was his “son.”
I blocked the door, refusing to let them leave. I couldn’t let the dog live–it was the only way
I’d find peace.
Eleanor cried even harder:
“Russell, why is Tessa so cruel? My Furry is hurt… If he dies, I don’t want to live either…”
Russell, unable to bear seeing Eleanor cry, forcefully shoved me to the ground.
He grabbed the golf club, raising it high:
“Tessa, how could there be such a vicious woman like you in this world?”
“You just lost your daughter, so why make Eleanor go through the pain of losing her son
too?”
“The biggest mistake of my life was marrying you!”
Eleanor, clutching the dog and crying delicately, added:
“Furry, my precious son, you must stay strong. It’s my fault for not protecting you. I was too

naïve to believe in people’s kindness…”
Even as I dodged, the silver gleam of the club in Russell’s hand still hit me.
