Chapter 6
“Tessa! If you don’t apologize today, don’t blame us for calling the police and accusing you
of intentional assault!”
Russell was clearly out of his mind.
Even he didn’t deserve to be called human, yet he treated a dog as if it were!
Eleanor, however, pouted, dissatisfied with Russell’s statement:
“Russell, the police wouldn’t care about my Furry’s well–being…”
“But if I don’t get justice for Furry, I’ll be so heartbroken that I won’t sleep well at night…”
“Look at my dark circles; aren’t they darker than a panda’s?”
She tilted her face up, asking Russell to inspect her supposed dark circles.
Russell gently stroked the barely visible shadows under her eyes, kissing them with
concern.
“You’re right. The police wouldn’t bother with this…”
“But we can’t just let it go when you and our son are being mistreated.”
“Then how about we punish her… make her kneel and apologize to you? Would that be acceptable?”
Eleanor’s eyes sparkled with joy, but she hesitated, feigning reluctance:
“That sounds good, but she’s still your wife… It wouldn’t look good if word got out…”
Russell turned his gaze to me, a cruel smile playing on his lips:
“She’s no wife of mine. She cheated on me and had me raise someone else’s child for five years. Making her kneel isn’t too much, is it? The only reason I haven’t hit her is because of our past. A woman like her, so promiscuous, would’ve been burned as a witch in the old days…”

Chapter 6
After loving this man for over ten years, I knew him too well.
Love makes one want to live; hate makes one want to die.
Especially since he had made up his mind that Heidi wasn’t his biological daughter.
The look deep in his eyes sent chills down my spine.
When Russell kicked my knees, I knew he was serious.
This was the moment I had been waiting for.
As the knife gleamed in my hand and pierced him, his eyes flashed with disbelief.
If they wanted to act insane, I was ready to play along!
After all, the fearless always scare those who have something to lose.
When Russell fell to the ground, bleeding, Eleanor screamed, trying to call the police, but I kicked her phone away.
She fell to the floor, her face turning ghostly pale.
“Tessa, let’s talk this through. Don’t act rashly…”
“I won’t make you apologize anymore, okay? Just put the knife down. If you kill someone, who will honor your daughter’s memory later?”
Seeing her terror, I felt a twisted sense of pleasure for the first time.
As I approached her with the knife, she crawled backward in panic:
“Tessa, don’t do this! It’s illegal! If you let me go, I’ll give Russell back to you, okay?”
“Your daughter’s death was truly an accident. As a mother, I also feel pain, but she’s gone. There’s no bringing her back…”

Russell’s blood dripped from the tip of the knife, drop by drop.
Eleanor, terrified, hid behind Russell:

After My Pregnant Danahe
Chapter 6
“Russell, you’ll protect me, right?‘
But Russell couldn’t hear her.
”
He was clutching his head, staring at his phone screen, his face twisted in agony.
“How is this possible?”
“It’s not possible…”
I grabbed the phone from him, and he looked up at me with sorrowful eyes:
“Tessa, Heidi… is she really my daughter?”
I looked at the paternity test report he had personally sent for and shook my head with a faint smile:
“No, you don’t deserve to be her father.”
Russell’s eyes wavered, his lips moved, but he couldn’t find the words.
He finally understood why, after our daughter’s death, I said he didn’t deserve to be Heidi’s father.
It wasn’t because he wasn’t her biological father.
It was because he was unworthy.
