Chapter 7
Russell shook his head violently, which only seemed to worsen his headache.
He held his head, veins throbbing on his forehead:
“It’s impossible!”
No matter how he denied it, he had personally pulled out Heidi’s hair.
And he had done it harshly, out of disgust.
He didn’t care if I provided the report or not.
But the one he submitted himself couldn’t be wrong.
As he seemed to remember something, he took the phone back from me.
Seeing him operate it, I realized he had finally removed me from his block list.
But it was too late–he received none of my messages.
Disappointment washed over his face, and he couldn’t even look at me.
He ignored the fact that he was still bleeding.
Like a dog, he crawled to the trash can, desperately searching for the torn paternity test report Eleanor had shredded.
“Are you looking for this?”
I held out the reassembled report, complete with the official signature, in front of him.
Not out of kindness.
I just wanted to see him suffer more.
As expected, when he confirmed the report was genuine, he collapsed on the floor.

Chapter 7
The corners of his eyes turned red, like blood tears.
Even Eleanor, no matter how foolish, knew she no longer needed to pretend.
She timidly reached for Russell’s hand:
“Russell, so Heidi… is really your daughter?”
Russell slapped her hand away, his eyes, full of venom, locked onto Eleanor:
“Get out!”
It was likely the first time Eleanor had been treated this way by Russell. She stood there, stunned, her lips trembling as tears welled up:
“Russell, you were the one who said Heidi was stupid, that she didn’t resemble you at all. You were the one who called her a bastard. Why are you taking it out on me now?”
I had to admit, Eleanor was quite clever.
From start to finish, she hadn’t directly harmed Heidi.
All she had to do was say a few words, and Russell, like a loyal dog, would jump to please her.
What she hadn’t expected was that Russell, upon learning the truth, would turn on her so quickly.
“If you hadn’t said Heidi swam slower than Furry, would I have forced her to race against a dog?”
“If you hadn’t asked for heart–shaped watermelon, would I have missed the best time to save Heidi?”
“If you hadn’t insisted on going to Hawaii for Valentine’s, would I have neglected to bury Heidi?”
“If you hadn’t urged me, would I have let Furry destroy Heidi’s belongings?”

Chapter 7
So much for true love–it was all so shallow.
It turned out Russell was fully aware of
verything Eleanor did.
He knew his actions were excessive, that he had crossed a line, but he still went along with
- it.
Simply because, in his heart, Heidi and I no longer mattered.
Faced with Russell’s accusations, Eleanor’s tears flowed freely:
“Your daughter died because of an accident! You can’t bring the dead back to life, so why are you so angry at me?”
“If it’s such a big deal, I’ll give you another child. But if you lose this one too, then we’re truly done!”
Russell stared at Eleanor’s belly, his harsh expression turning to shock:
“What do you mean?”
Eleanor dropped her act and gave me a smug wink:
“Oh, come on! You know exactly what I mean!”
The joy on Russell’s face lasted only a few seconds before he received a screenshot of a medical report I sent.
After hiding it from him for so long, I never thought I’d see the day it would be revealed.
His gaze shifted between the report and my
face.
I responded with a sinister smile:
“Surprised?”
