Chapter 118: The Brother is the Culprit 

(Aria’s POV) 

After finishing the call with Dominic, a heavy cloud that had been weighing on my heart lifted. My wolf stirred uneasily within me as my mobile phone suddenly rang again. 

Sophia Price. My aunt. My mother’s younger sister. 

“Hello, Aunt Sophia…” I began. 

“Aria, what’s wrong with you?” she scolded. “Your brother has been hospitalized for days, why haven’t you shown up yet?” 

I was stunned. “You came to the Northern Territory?” 

“Of course I came!” she shot back. “My nephew was so badly injured that someone had to be here for him!” 

“How can you be so heartless as a sister?” she continued. “My elder sister died from being angered by your 

affairs. We only have your brother left in the Price and Summers family, yet you leave him alone in the 

hospital!” 

The guilt hit me like a physical blow. My chest tightened. 

“Aunt, I tried to visit him, but he didn’t want me there,” I explained. 

“That’s just him saying things out of anger!” she snapped. “Besides, if he tells you not to come, you just don’t come? What kind of sister are you?” 

“I’ll be there right away,” I said quietly. 

“That’s more like it!” she exclaimed. 

Upon arriving at Silvercrest Hospital, I found my aunt Sophia, uncle Robert, and cousin Sadie gathered around James’s bedside. They were chatting and laughing, their pack scents mingling in the hospital air. 

However, the moment I entered the room, they all fell silent. The atmosphere evaporated instantly, as if I were an unwelcome intruder. Their wolves‘ tension was palpable. 

“Hello, Aunt Sophia, Uncle Robert,” I greeted them. 

My aunt nodded while my uncle offered a brief smile. 

I turned to look at my cousin Sadie. She merely pouted and turned away to stare at her mobile phone, completely ignoring my presence. 

I placed the two bags of moon berries and healing herbs I had brought on the bedside table. 

“These should help with your recovery, James,” I said. 

My aunt’s expression softened as she examined the medicinal supplies. 

“Aria, your brother’s injury won’t heal anytime soon,” she said. “Why don’t you get him a VIP single room? That way, he’ll be more comfortable and can focus on healing his wolf properly.”

My aunt’s face lit up. She looked eagerly at James. 

James frowned. “I already told everyone. I just fell accidentally. I wasn’t beaten by anyone.” 

His lie was transparent. I scoffed and turned back to my aunt.

see, my brother,simply won’t tell the truth. So there’s nothing I can do to help him.

She patted James’s hand. 

“Child, why are you hiding even this? Anyone can see from your face that you were beaten badly! Quickly tell us the truth. Your uncle and I will help you get revenge!” 

But James remained tight–lipped. 

I pulled out my mobile phone. Mu 

fingers hovered over the screen. 

“Fine, you won’t tell me, right?” I said. “Then I’ll call David Turner now and ask him directly why he beat you 

like this!” 

James’s eyes went wide with panic. He frantically scrambled off the bed, hopping on one foot as he lunged 

toward me. 

“You–what are you calling for!” he shouted. 

My aunt cried out, “James! James, your foot! Be careful! Don’t fall!” 

She rushed to catch him. 

Taking advantage of his injured leg and my aunt’s grip holding him back, I darted into the hallway with my phone. My wolf’s agility served me well. 

Trapped by our aunt’s arms, he could only stare at me. 

“I’ll tell you!” he finally shouted. “I’ll tell you everything, okay! Just hang up the phone!” 

I ended the call and walked back toward him. 

“Tell me everything,” I commanded. “Is there anything else you’re hiding from me?” 

James pursed his lips. His eyes kept darting to the phone in my hand. 

Finally, he lowered his head and released a heavy sigh. 

“I… I actually didn’t do much,” he began. “I just sent a report letter to the Territorial Registry Office…” 

“A report letter?” My heart tightened. “Reporting what exactly?” 

“It… it was reporting evidence that the Turner Pack was violating territorial boundaries and conducting illegal business in neutral zones…” 

It felt as if lightning had struck me. My heart turned to ice. My wolf howled in distress within me. 

“You… are you completely insane?” I whispered. “Why would you do such a thing?” 

The Turner Pack’s legacy had been destroyed because they were caught violating pack laws. Their entire

territory had been seized, their pack disbanded. 

But it was my brother who had sent the report letter! 

It was as if he had personally handed over the silver blade, allowing them to deliver the fatal blow to the Turner Pack! 

Now I even felt that David Turner merely beating my brother, rather than killing him, showed mercy for what amounted to pack treason! 

“It was… it was Claire Watson who kept crying to me,” James pleaded. “She kept saying that the Turner Pack wouldn’t let her go… I didn’t know she was already mated to David then…” 

His eyes filled with tears. 

“Aria, what should I do now? How do I.fix this?” 

“You’re asking me what to do now?” I demanded. “When I asked you back then what you were hiding, why didn’t you say anything?” 

“I… I…” he stammered. 

I sighed deeply, knowing that even if James had told me the truth earlier, it wouldn’t have changed anything. 

He had violated the most basic laws governing pack territories. I recognized the gravity of his transgression! 

I even felt that David Turner just breaking his leg was a mild punishment for such a serious breach of werewolf law. 

“Aria, you have such a good relationship with Dominic Blackwood,” James said suddenly. “And he has such a 

high status as Alpha King. He definitely has a way to help me!” 

“Why are you mentioning Dominic?” I frowned. 

I already owed Dominic too many favors. My brother’s situation was serious, involving pack politics and 

territorial law violations. 

How could I possibly ask him for help again?! 

“Isn’t that Alpha King pursuing you?” my brother pressed. He grabbed my arm. 

“He always listens to you. As long as you ask him, he’ll definitely help me solve this mess!” 

“Don’t talk nonsense!” I snapped, pulling my arm away. 

“I will try to help you figure this out and mediate as much as possible with the Turner Fk,” I said. “If mediation fails…” 

I lowered my voice. 

“You’ll have to bear the consequences for your own actions!” 

“If it can’t be mediated, David said he’d kill me!” James cried out, his voice trembling. 

His entire body was shaking now. 

My heart tightened as I wondered whether he was exaggerating or if David Turner truly intended lethal 

revenge. 

“Don’t panic yet,” I said, forcing calm into my voice. “I’ll go sound out David Turner first. There’s always some

James knew that no one could help him now except me. His desperation made him compliant. 

“Okay,” he whispered. “I’ll do whatever you think is best.” 

Since my aunt’s family had rushed to the Northern Territory and had nowhere to stay, I initially planned to book them a hotel. 

However, they insisted on coming back to my place at Moon Valley Residences. 

“We’re not used to hotels,” Aunt Sophia explained. “We’d only stay one night before leaving tomorrow anyway.” 

I couldn’t refuse their request. It was just one night, and my apartment had three bedrooms, so it would be manageable. 

Thus, I drove them to my building, navigating the underground parking garage before waiting for the elevator. 

“Aria?” a familiar voice called out behind me. 

I turned around, my heart skipping a beat at the sight of Dominic Blackwood approaching. His Alpha scent was immediately recognizable. 

“Dominic?” I looked at him with surprise. “What a coincidence.” 

Dominic’s silver–gray eyes shifted to the group behind me. 

“This is…?” he asked. 

“My aunt and uncle’s family came to visit,” I explained. “They’re just staying one night and then leaving tomorrow…” 

Dominic stepped forward. 

“Hello, Uncle and Aunt. I’m Aria’s friend, Dominic Blackwood,” he introduced himself. 

“Ah, hello, hello…” my aunt stammered, clearly recognizing his Alpha King status. 

Dominic looked back at me, his eyes warm. 

“Are you planning to eat dinner? I’ll treat everyone and welcome your aunt and uncle properly.”
