“Alexander…” I couldn’t help but frown, my wolf whimpering softly within me at his desperate scent filling the
air around us.
The intensity in his amber eyes was unlike anything I’d ever witnessed from him before. It made my chest tighten with unexpected emotion.
“You listen to me first,” Alexander interrupted me urgently, his voice cracking with raw vulnerability.
His usual commanding Alpha presence had completely dissolved into something I barely recognized.
“Aria, these days I have carefully thought about everything we have experienced together. Every moment, every word, every mistake.”
He stepped closer, his hands trembling slightly at his sides.
“It was me who pushed you further and further away. I can’t blame anyone else for what happened between
us.”
I stood frozen, watching this powerful Storm Pack Alpha reduced to something I never thought I’d witness.
“I know I have no right to ask this of you after everything I’ve done,” Alexander continued, his voice breaking.
“But please, Aria. Give me one more chance. Just one.”
His desperation was palpable in every word, every breath.
“I promise I’ll put in all the effort this time. I’ll be the mate you deserved from the beginning.”
The change from his usually proud Alpha demeanor to this pleading vulnerability struck something deep
within me.
Despite everything that had happened between us, seeing him like this stirred emotions I thought were buried
forever.
“I know you probably don’t want to hear this, and I understand if you refuse,” he said quickly, sensing my internal struggle.
“But can you at least consider it? Think about what we could have if we tried again?”
Fearing my immediate refusal, he gestured toward the newly renovated sports field.
“Let’s walk around a bit while you think. This place has changed so much, hasn’t it?”
I found myself nodding, though my mind remained in turmoil.
We began walking across the familiar yet transformed grounds of Silverpine High School.
The memories this place held seemed to echo with every step we took.
“You know,” Alexander said with a sudden playful smile that reminded me achingly of our teenage years, “I never asked you this back then, but I’m curious now.”

“You told everyone to mind their own business and walked me to the nurse’s office.”
Alexander had stopped walking entirely now, his face growing pale.
“You never asked for the jacket back. You just left it with me like it meant nothing.”
I turned to look at him directly.
“That one moment of kindness from the future Alpha of Storm Pack meant everything to a nobody like me.”
“It was such a simple act, but it made me realize that beneath your confident exterior, you had a gentle heart.”
Alexander’s expression shifted to one of complete shock, his wolf’s scent spiking with disbelief.
“That’s when I knew I was completely lost to you,” I admitted.
“What’s wrong?” I asked, noticing his sudden distress.
Before Alexander could respond to my confession, his entire body tensed.
His eyes widened with alarm as he spotted someone approaching across the school grounds.
“What is he doing here?” Alexander growled under his breath.
I turned to follow his gaze and felt my own surprise surge.
Dominic was walking toward us with his characteristic confident stride, his powerful Alpha presence

“Dominic?” I called out, genuinely confused by his unexpected appearance.

Dominic approached with a calm smile, though his silver gray eyes held a dangerous glint.
Your aunt mentioned you had a ‘date‘ with Alexander this morning,” he replied smoothly.
His gaze shifted pointedly between Alexander and me.
“She seemed quite concerned about your safety, so I thought I’d check on you.”
Alexander’s face immediately darkened at the implication.
“This is none of your business, Blackwood,” he snarled, his Alpha pheromones beginning to spike
aggressively.
“Actually, it is my business,” Dominic replied with maddening calm.
His demeanor remained completely composed while Alexander’s fury escalated visibly.
“Anything involving Aria is my concern now.”
“You have no claim over her!” Alexander snapped, his wolf bristling beneath his skin.
“She’s not your mate!”
Dominic’s expression shifted slightly, a knowing look appearing in his silver–gray eyes.
Without warning, he casually put his arm around my shoulder and pulled me closer to his side.
“How can it not be me?” he said with cool confidence that made my heart skip.
“Aria is my mate now.”
The words hung in the air like a thunderclap.
“You-” Alexander’s face instantly contorted with shock and disbelief.
His amber eyes darted frantically between Dominic and me.
“Aria, is he telling the truth? You and him?”
His Alpha pheromones spiked wildly with a mixture of rage and devastation.
Without missing a beat, I confirmed Dominic’s statement with surprising calm.

away from Alexander.

“Wait, what about my brother James? Alexander said he had him-”
Dominic immediately turned back to me with reassuring eyes.
“Your brother is fine now, Aria. Completely safe.”
“Huh?” I paused, surprised by his confidence.
Relief began to flood through my system, though I hardly dared to believe it.
“What do you mean?”
Dominic glanced back at Alexander with a slight, almost mocking smile that showcased his Alpha King
superiority.
“Before I came here to find you, I already had Hunter Hayes rescue your brother from whatever situation Alexander had created.”
My heart swelled with overwhelming relief and joy.
My pregnant wolf hummed with deep contentment, finally able to relax knowing James was truly safe.
“He should be back home with your aunt’s family right now, probably wondering what all the fuss was about.” “Really?” I exclaimed, almost unable to believe such wonderful news.
Dominic’s laughter was light and infectious, echoing my sudden happiness.
His powerful Alpha scent wrapped around me protectively, making me feel completely secure for the first
time all day.
He reached out and gently flicked my nose with surprising tenderness.
“Of course it’s real,” he confirmed warmly.
“It’s more genuine than pure moonstone. No fakes allowed in my territory.”
