After Mrs. Caroline Lewis and Lily Lewis left the hospital room, the tension in the air slowly began to dissipate. Dominic turned his attention back to me, his silver–gray eyes immediately softening with concern.
“How are you feeling?” he asked gently, his powerful Alpha presence wrapping around me like a protective shield. “The doctor said you need to remain in bed due to the threatened miscarriage.”
I shifted uncomfortably against the hospital pillows, my hand instinctively moving to my belly where our pup was growing. “I’m worried, Dominic,” I admitted quietly.
“About what?” His brow furrowed with concern as he moved closer to my bedside.
“What if we’re wrong about Lily?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. “What if she really is Dr. Lewis’s sister who has been missing for years? We might have just offended the real Lewis family.”
My pregnant wolf whimpered anxiously within me. The thought of causing more pain to Mrs. Lewis, who had already suffered so much, made my heart ache.

“But how can you be so sure?” I pressed, studying his face for any sign of doubt.

“What did you find?” I asked, my curiosity piqued despite my exhaustion.
“Nothing obviously suspicious on the surface,” Dominic admitted, his jaw tightening slightly. “But there are

prove she’s not Dr. Lewis’s sister.”
I immediately shook my head, remembering my previous losses to his uncanny intuition. “Absolutely not. I’m
not betting against your instincts anymore.”
“Smart choice,” he chuckled, his eyes twinkling with amusement.
Rather than continue this conversation, I closed my eyes and turned away from him. “I need to rest. The doctor said sleep is important for the pup.”
“Of course,” Dominic said gently, his voice becoming soothing. “Sleep, my love. I’ll be right here.”
My pregnant wolf gradually settled as I drifted off to sleep, seeking the rest my body desperately needed after the day’s traumatic events.

When I stirred awake, the first thing I noticed was how peaceful the hospital room had become. The harsh fluorescent lights had been dimmed, and the only sound was the quiet hum of medical equipment.
I turned my head to find Dominic asleep on the uncomfortable hospital sofa, his usually commanding Alpha features softened in slumber. His dark hair had fallen across his forehead, and his powerful frame looked strangely vulnerable in the cramped space.
His silver–gray eyes were closed, thick lashes casting shadows on his cheeks. Even in sleep, his protective instincts remained one hand rested on his phone, ready to respond to any emergency.
I found myself studying his face, memorizing every detail. This was the man who had rushed to save me, who had protected me from Lily’s attack, who was willing to challenge an entire family to defend me and our pup.
A soft knock on the door interrupted my quiet observation. Dr. Nathan Lewis entered, his professional demeanor barely masking his obvious anxiety.
“I hope I’m not disturbing you,” he said quietly, his brown eyes darting between me and Dominic’s sleeping
form.
“Not at all,” I replied, my voice still hoarse from sleep. “How are you doing?”
“I’ve been better,” he admitted, running a hand through his prematurely silver hair. “The DNA test results aren’t back yet from the werewolf medical laboratory.”

His voice trailed off, the implications too horrible to voice. The haunted expression in his eyes revealed his deepest fears.
“We’ll find her,” Dominic said firmly. “Once we expose the fake, she’ll lead us to the real Lewis daughter.”
Just then, Dr. Lewis’s mobile phone rang shrilly in the quiet room. He answered quickly, his professional

“Dr. Lewis speaking… Yes, I’ve been waiting for these results… I see… Thank you.”
As he listened, his expression grew increasingly dark. His wolf’s scent shifted, carrying notes of anger and
vindication.

Dr. Lewis hung up the phone, his face a mask of grim satisfaction. “You were right, Dominic. The DNA test confirms it – Lily is not my sister.”

“I left her in the hospital chapel to repent,” Alison said, her voice dripping with disgust. “Mother is in the rest room recovering from the shock.”

condition better than anyone.”
His silver–gray eyes met mine, understanding my concern but remaining resolute. “Besides, finding the real Lewis daughter will be easy now that the imposter has been exposed.”
“What do you mean?” I asked, though I suspected I knew where his thoughts were heading.
