Chapter 200: The Birth
(Aria’s POV)
Dominic’s powerful arms wrapped around me, his cedar scent enveloping me like a protective cocoon. His silver gray eyes held mine with steady certainty, his Alpha presence radiating calm strength despite the disturbing discovery we’d just made.
“While we might not believe in curses,” he said softly, his voice carrying the weight of centuries of werewolf wisdom, “those who do can be deeply affected by them. The psychological impact alone can cause real
harm.”
His strong hands began massaging my temples with gentle circles, his touch soothing my agitated pregnant wolf. “The important thing is that we found it before any damage was done.”
I leaned into his embrace, but my mind kept racing with disturbing thoughts. “I still don’t understand why Alison and her mother would want to kill me. What could they possibly gain?”
Dominic’s expression darkened, his Alpha instincts clearly having reached the same conclusion I was approaching. “Think about it, Aria. Without you in the picture, who would benefit most?”
The realization hit me like a physical blow. “Alison could reclaim her position in the Lewis family. With me gone, she’d be the only ‘daughter‘ again.”
“Exactly,” Dominic confirmed, his silver–gray eyes flashing with controlled fury. “Her wolf’s jealousy has driven
her to desperate measures.”
I felt my pregnant wolf whimper with the weight of this betrayal. “I can’t believe they would go this far. We’re supposed to be family.”
“Family doesn’t always mean what we hope it does,” Dominic replied grimly. “But dealing with them is my responsibility now. You don’t need to worry about any of this.”
His hands continued their soothing massage, and I felt my body beginning to relax despite the emotional turmoil. The stress of the past few hours was finally catching up with me, and exhaustion was pulling me toward sleep.
“Just rest,” Dominic murmured, his voice à gentle rumble against my ear. “Everything is taken care of.”
I closed my eyes, breathing in his comforting scent and letting his protective presence wash over me. For the first time in hours, my pregnant wolf began to settle, trusting in our mate’s strength.
But just as I was drifting off, a sudden, sharp pain tore through my abdomen like lightning. My eyes snapped open, and I gasped, my hand instinctively moving to my swollen belly.
“Dominic!” I cried out, the pain intensifying with each passing second.
The pain hit again, stronger this time, causing me to break out in a cold sweat. My wolf was crying out in distress within me, sensing that something monumental was happening.
“What’s wrong?” Dominic demanded, his Alpha senses immediately picking up on the scent of my distress.
Another contraction ripped through me, and I doubled over, unable to speak through the intensity of it. This
wasn’t the mild discomfort I’d been experiencing for weeks – this was something entirely different
“Get a doctor!” Dominic shouted, his usually composed Alpha demeanor cracking with panic. Now?
His powerful voice carried down the hospital corridor with commanding authority. Wahin moments, D Nathan Lewis burst through the door, followed by two werewolf nurses.
“What’s happening?” Dr. Nathan asked, immediately moving to my side and beginning his examination
The pain just started,‘ I managed to gasp between contractions. “It’s so intense.”
After a quick examination, Dr. Nathan’s expression shifted from concern to excitement. “Aria, you’re in labor Your son is ready to be born.”
“But it’s too early.” I protested weekly. “I still have two weeks left.”
“Werewolf pregnancies can be unpredictable,” Dr. Nathan explained, already signaling for the nurses to prepare. “Your pup has decided he’s ready to meet the world.”
I looked at Dominic, who had gone completely still, his silver–gray eyes wide with shock. For the first time since I’d known him, the powerful Alpha King looked utterly helpless.
“I need to get her to the delivery room immediately, Dr. Nathan announced, and suddenly everyone was moving at once.
The next few minutes passed in a blur of activity. I was lifted onto a gurney, Dominic’s hand holding mine tightly as we rushed through the hospital corridors. His cedar scent clung to me like a lifeline, providing comfort even as the contractions grew stronger.
*I’ll be right here when you come out,” Dominic promised, his voice rough with emotion. I love you Ana”
Before I could respond, the delivery room doors closed between us, and I was surrounded by medical professionals preparing for the birth of my son.
The operating room was bright and sterile, filled with the efficient energy of the medical team. Dr. Nathan took charge, his professional demeanor calm and reassuring despite the urgency of the situation.
“Alright, Aria,” he said, positioning himself at the foot of the bed. “When the next contraction comes, I need
you to push”
The pain was unlike anything I’d ever experienced. Each contraction felt like my body was being ton from the inside. My wolf was howling within me, caught between the agony of birth and the instinctive need
to protect our pup.
“1 can’t do this,” I gasped, tears streaming down my face. It hurts too much.”
“Yes, you can,” Dr. Nathan said firmly. “You’re incredibly strong, Aria. Your pup needs you to be strong now”
Minutes felt Ike hours as I endured wave after wave of contractions. The werewolf
encouragement and support, but the pain was overwhelming. Just when I thought I couldn’t take any more.

initial reaction was hardly what I’d expected – he looked nothing like either Dominic or me. His features were
scrunched and red, his tiny fists waving in the air.
“He’s… he’s ugly,” I whispered, immediately feeling guilty for the thought.
The werewolf nurse chuckled softly. “All newborns look that way, Mrs. Blackwood. Give him a few days, and
you’ll see how beautiful he is. His wolf traits will develop over time.”
As if responding to my voice, the baby’s tiny hand reached out and grasped my finger with surprising
strength. His wolf instincts were already recognizing his mother, and I felt my heart melt at the contact.
“Hello, little one,” I whispered, my voice thick with emotion. “I’m your mama.”
After what felt like an eternity, I was finally moved to a recovery room, my son sleeping peacefully in my
arms. The moment we arrived, the door burst open and our family rushed in.
Dr. Michael and Mrs. Caroline Lewis were the first to reach us, their faces glowing with grandparental joy. Dr.
Nathan followed, grinning broadly at his successful delivery. Olivia bounced excitedly beside them, her eyes
bright with tears of happiness.
“He’s perfect,” Mrs. Caroline breathed, her maternal instincts immediately drawn to her grandson. “Look at those tiny fingers!”
“He has Dominic’s nose,” Dr. Michael observed, leaning in for a closer look. “And your chin, Aria.”
Everyone crowded around the bed, their various wolf scents mixing with joy and relief. But I noticed that Dominic hung back, sitting silently by my side rather than joining the celebration.
His silver–gray eyes were filled with tears, his gaze fixed on me rather than our son. His usual Alpha composure had completely cracked, revealing the depth of his emotion.
“Dominic?” I asked softly, concerned by his silence. “Are you alright?”
He squeezed my hand tightly with his strong Alpha grip, his cedar scent heavy with emotion. “I was so scared,” he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. “When they took you into that room, I felt completely
helpless. I couldn’t protect you from the pain.”
!
I realized then the extent of his fear during my labor. This powerful Alpha, who could face down any enemy,
had been utterly defenseless against the natural process of birth.
“I’m fine,” I assured him, bringing his hand to my lips. “We’re both fine.”
“Look at him,” I urged gently. “Look at our son.”
Dominic finally turned his attention to the tiny bundle in my arms, his expression softening as he took in
every detail of our pup’s face.
“He’s so small,” he murmured, his voice filled with wonder. “And perfect.”
“He needs a name,” I said, watching as Dominic’s finger gently traced our son’s cheek. “What should we call
him?”
Dominic was quiet for a long moment, his Alpha instincts clearly considering the weight of naming his heir. Then his mouth quirked in a small smile.
“Michael Jr.?” he suggested teasingly.
“Absolutely not,” I replied immediately, causing everyone to laugh.

“How about Gabriel?” Dominic sald more seriously. “Gabriel Blackwood. It means ‘God is my strength–fitting for the future Alpha of the Shadow Pack.”
