Deserted Wife Strikes Back
Chapter 24 Settling Scores at the Gathering
Cecilia ignored Seraphina completely.
At this moment, she had parked her car in front of the Crimson Spicy Tavern restaurant.
Seraphina loved the food there. Whenever she dined out, she insisted on coming there. Those who didn’t know might think she owned the place.
Reluctantly, Seraphina followed Cecilia into the private room.
Inside, a tall man
Il man was already waiting. He stood by the floor–to–ceiling window, gazing at the pond outside. The weather was fine today, with the radiant sunlight shimmering on the water, creating a dreamlike scene as ripples danced across the surface.
He sensed their arrival, turning around to face them.
He smiled faintly, and for a moment, it seemed like the sunlight pierced through the floor–to–ceiling glass, enveloping him in a halo of light.
It as if he were an angel.
Cecilia suddenly felt as if
He was not as charming as Alaric, but still exuded a captivating appeal. He didn’t possess artificial elegance or arrogance Dominic either, showing refined demeanor,
“Have you been waiting long?” Cecilia inquired.
No, I Just arrived,” Dashiell replied.
“Please have a seat,” Cecilia said.
Dashiell took a seat,
Meanwhile, Seraphina deliberately chose a seat at the farthest end.
Cecilia was speechless, but evidently, Dashiell didn’t mind.
As they settled in, the waiter respectfully approached them with the menu.
They all perused it simultaneously.
Cecilia asked, “Dashiell, it’s been a while since you’ve been back. Is there any special dish in Serenovia City you’ve been craving?
Before Dashiell could respond, Seraphina interjected, “There probably aren’t many dishes abroad that suit your taste. Back in Serenovia City, you definitely need something spicy.”
Dashiell remained silent, lips pursed.
Although they had grown up together, they were well aware of each other’s preferences.
While Dashiell had moved to Serenovia City at the age of 8, he came from Astralton City, where the cuisine leaned toward sweetness and avoided spicy flavors. Despite his years in Serenovia City, he still couldn’t quite adjust to the spiciness of the local food.
Now, after being away for so long, it was clear he couldn’t handle it.

The waiter hesitated for a moment. “I see.
“Hurry up with the food; I’m starving.” Seraphina urged, not giving the others a chance to order.
Cecilia noticed that Dashiell had already closed the menu, seemingly content with Seraphina’s choices.
She returned

As the three sat at the table, Seraphina took out her phone and started playing with it, showing no interest in joining Cecilia and Dashiell’s conversation, appearing detached.
Fortunately, the food arrived prom
promptly.
Before long, a spread of dishes covered the table.
Seraphina eagerly dug in..
Cecilia also took a few bites. The food was indeed spicy, but she could handle it.
However, Dashiell sat there without touching his fork.
Cecilia contemplated ordering more dishes for him.
Suddenly, Seraphina poured some red wine, saying, “Isn’t it rude not to toast Dashiell’s return? It would be impolite not to celebrate.
Cecilia shot Seraphina a glance.
Seraphina knew Dashiell was prono to getting drunk.
Dashiell raised his glass. “Thank you.”
They began to drink.
Initially, Seraphina had ignored Dashiell, but now she seemed excited to be drinking with him.
It seemed like she was trying to get him drunk.
“Lat something” Cecilia couldn’t bear it any longer. If they kept drinking like this, Dashiell would end up passed out on the table.
Dashiell nodded. He probably felt uncomfortable in his stomach. He picked up his fork and took a bite of meat.
As soon as he did that, he choked and his face turned red.

Seraphina remained silent, engrossed in her meal and seemingly content.

Everyone turned to see Penelope Kingsley, Dominic’s sister, entering the root
Seraphina frowned.
She admired Dominic but despised Penelope..
Back in their school days, they weren’t in the same class, and Penelope was a year below. It was unclear how they had become enemies, almost coming to blows at one point.
“Dashiell, you’re back and you didn’t even bother to contact me. If my friend hadn’t seen y you here, I wouldn’t have known you were
back, Penelope complained.
Dashiell replied coolly, “I’ve only just returned and have been busy.”
“Busy with what? Planning to join the House of Everhart Bank? Penelope remarked rudely.
Seraphina felt extremely angry.
“No, I’ve started a small company with some friends, planning to venture into entrepreneurship, Dashiell responded.
“Really? You’re different from someone who just lazes around at home, living off her parents, not doing anything, and often causing trouble at nightclubs,” Penelope retorted.
“Are you talking about yourself?” Seraphina interjected.
What are you implying?”
Penelope snapped, “When have I been to hightclub?”
“Well, I have evidence. Seraphina pulled out her phone.
Images of Penelope drunk at a bar appeared on the screen.
“Who’s the guy you’re hugging? Not h

Penelope snatched the phone away abruptly.
Enraged, Seraphina demanded, “Give me back my phone.”
Penelope sneered, opened a small window on the floor–to–ceiling window, and threw the phone out into the pond outside.
Penelope! You despicable bitch!” Seraphina was furious. She lunged forward and grabbed Penelope by the hair.
