Can’t win me back
Chapter 18 I’ll Take Care of It.
Marcus pressed the elevator button, and the elevator began to go down.
Upon reaching the second floor, Marcus walked directly into an examination room, with Aurelia following behind.
Inside, a young doctor, seemingly close to Marcus’s age, awaited there. His name was
Marcus led Aurelia to a chair in front of the doctor’s desk.
“Dalton, please take a look at her face and suggest how to reduce the swelling,” Marcus requested.
Dalton’s gaze fixed on Aurelia’s face.
He teased, “Marcus, where did you find such a beautiful girl?”
Marcus was stunned. After a while, he replied, “Prescribe some medication that are good for fetus development.”
As Dalton wrote the prescription, he paused and looked up at Marcus. “You’ve made quick progress,” he remarked.
Marcus’s tone turned cold. “Don’t talk nonsense. She is Nathaniel’s wife.”
Dalton, taken aback, quickly apologized to Aurelia. “I’m sorry. You should have told me earlier. I misunderstood.”
Aurelia blushed. “It’s okay. Please, the medication.”
After receiving the medicine, they returned to the elevator.
“Uncle Marcus, Ashley is locked on the terrace,” Aurelia began, but Marcus interrupted, “I do not know of this.”
Aurelia fell silent, thinking she had been too suspicious. Marcus, a man of such stature, seemed uninterested in arguing with her.
The Heilbronn family had spent the night in the hospital corridor, except for Nathaniel.
In the early morning, Matthew finally reached Nathaniel on the phone, and he immediately began to scold.
On the other end, Nathaniel, still not fully awake, sat up upon hearing Matthew mention Reed

and the hospital. The unfamiliar environment made him uneasy.
He looked to the side and saw a woman lying there, sat up upon
At that moment, he had no interest in listening further and quickly ended the call after confirming the hospital’s address.
As he lifted the covers and saw himself dressed, he breathed a sigh of relief.
Chelsea then opened her eyes.
She softly said, “Nathaniel, you wake up so early?”
Nathaniel touched the back of his neck and quickly moved away from the bed. “Sorry, I drank too much yesterday.”
Chelsea, seeing him about to leave, hurriedly sat up and circled her arms around his waist from behind. “Nathaniel, you made me sore yesterday.”
Nathaniel felt a sudden headache, his mind reeling. He rubbed his temples, trying to recall the previous night’s events–they had dinner and drinks, but did they do more?
He began to doubt, as his alcohol tolerance was usually high, and he would usually fall asleep after drinking honey water given by Aurelia. Did he really do something with Chelsea?
* “Chelsea, what did we do yesterday?” Nathaniel asked.
Chelsea playfully punched him. “You won’t deny it now, will you? You are my first man.”
Nathaniel felt a sense of suffocation.
He realized what had happened, but how…
He got out of bed, put on a shirt, and remained silent.
Chelsea sensed his detachment and felt a pang of disappointment.
“Nathaniel, are you just going to leave like this? You weren’t this cold when you were with me last night.” Chelsea started to cry.
Nathaniel was left numb by her tears, his hands on his hips as he paused, still reeling from the enigma of having slept with Chelsea. While he had indeed pledged to marry her in the past, the notion of intimacy had never entered his mind, leaving him momentarily bewildered. His head throbbed incessantly.

“I will take responsibility for this.” He had been frowning since waking up next to Chelsea.
“I have urgent matters to attend to. I must leave immediately.”
With that, Nathaniel had already put on his shoes,
Chelsea ran over in tears. “Nathaniel, can you move in with me? I can’t sleep alone. I often have nightmares at night, and I’m afraid of sudden heart discomfort with no one to help.”
Nathaniel gently removed her arms from around his waist.
“Chelsea, it’s not the right time. I promise to take responsibility for you. If you feel lonely, you can go back home. Aren’t your parents in Imperick?”
Chelsea didn’t know what to say and could only watch him leave.
Nathaniel took the elevator and headed straight to the basement.
Zack, who had brought Nathaniel over the night before, was waiting in the parking lot and had inadvertently fallen asleep in his seat. He woke up to a knock on the window, realizing it was
Nathaniel.
“Drive to Merry Hospital.” Zack quickly sat up and straightened his clothes, rubbing his eyes. He couldn’t see the outside because he was in the underground parking lot and had lost track of time.
“Mr. Heilbronn, what time is it now?” He asked.
“It’s six in the morning.” Zack felt flustered, noticing over twenty missed calls on his phone. He thought, ‘Oh no, I didn’t go home last night. She’s definitely going to complain again.‘
Trembling, he opened his phone’s contacts, seeking Nathaniel’s permission before making a call. “Mr. Heilbronn, can I make a quick call home to report my whereabouts? I might end up single.”
Nathaniel was puzzled, “Do you need to report?”
Zack nodded.
“I must report. I didn’t go home all night, and I missed calls. Women worry a lot. If I don’t explain properly, she might think I spent the night with another woman.”
Nathaniel sensed Zack’s implication, opened the driver’s side door, and rudely pulled Zack out.
“You go buy some medicine and deliver it upstairs. After that, you can have a day off.” Zack stood there in shock, stretching his neck to ask, “Mr. Heilbronn, what medicine should I buy?”

Nathaniel rubbed his temples and gave Zack a stern look.
Zack quickly caught on. “Mr. Heilbronn, I understand. I’ll go buy it now.”
Nathaniel stepped on the gas and headed to the hospital.
The whole family was there in the corridor.
Matthew, seeing Nathaniel finally arrive, was angry. “You’re so busy. I couldn’t reach you all night. Where were you?”
Nathaniel couldn’t come up with an answer to Matthew’s question.
“How’s Grandpa?” He changed the subject.
“Do you even care about your grandpa? He was in danger yesterday,” Matthew replied.
“Grandpa is usually so healthy. How did he suddenly fall ill?”
Ashley stepped forward to accuse, “Nathaniel, you should ask your wife. It was her chatting with Grandpa in the study yesterday that caused his sudden heart attack. If we hadn’t sent him to the hospital in time, he would have died. It was your wife’s fault.”
Aurelia sat silently on the bench, feeling unwell after standing in the hospital corridor all night. She was also scared yesterday. Now, she looked drained.
She looked up, meeting Nathaniel’s questioning gaze. “What did you say to Grandpa yesterday?”
Aurelia stared at him blankly, her mind in a whirl, with Chelsea’s moans echoing in her ears.
Nathaniel walked over and lifted her fro
