Chapter 2 She Wants Twenty Million Dollars.
Aurelia smiled bitterly, letting him think what he wanted. Since they were getting a divorce, there was no need for explanations.
Nathaniel put away one copy of the signed documents and left the other for Aurelia. “We won’t proceed with the formal divorce for now. Please keep our affairs confidential from others, especially frommy grandfather. The company’s new product launch is approaching, and I can’t allow any accidents…”
Before he could finish, Aurelia interjected, “Don’t worry. I’ll play along. If Ms. Thompson needs an explanation, I can help. After all, I took your money, so I should do something for you.”
Nathaniel fell silent for a moment, his tone tinged with sarcasm. “Thank you. You may actually need to.
Aurelia’s throat tightened when a wave of nausea hit it. She rushed to the bathroom and vomited. Their breakfast was consumed in an unpleasant atmosphere.
Nathaniel left behind a half–eaten sandwich and left.
Aurelia watched his retreating figure in silence, reminiscing about their first encounter.
She remembered it was a sunny day. When Nathaniel walked into the cafe in a tailored suit, he invariably struck the attention of the people there with his elegant temperament and gorgeous features, especially his prominent nose. He was so handsome that Aurelia was immediately captivated.
With Nathaniel’s grandfather, Reed Heilbronn, taking the lead, they got married that very day.
On their wedding night, Nathaniel presented her with an agreement. “I have someone I love, and I marry you because my grandfather pressured me. Take a look at this agreement and sign it if you’re okay with it. Our marriage won’t be made public, and we’ll separate three years later. I can’t give you anything other than money.”
Nathaniel was serious. Over the past three years, he generously provided Aurelia with money but never bestowed an ounce of affection. Even during their intimate moments, he remained aloof.
Now, as Aurelia thought back, she realized that Nathaniel had agreed to marry her because of her striking resemblance to Chelsea.
Aurelia snapped back to reality, realizing she had accidentally spilled half of the milk.

Betty hurried over to clean up the mess.
“Mrs. Heilbronn, you usually have a good temper. What’s wrong today? You’d better not argue with Mr. Heilbronn. Besides, you should fight for this. How can you bring up divorce? I don’t think Mr. Heilbronn really wants a divorce. He looked unhappy while signing the papers. Trust me and apologize to him tonight. It will all be fine.”
Aurelia wiped her tears with a tissue. “But I can’t let go of this.”
Chelsea was like a thorn in her heart, causing her immense pain.
After dinner, Aurelia quickly packed her bags and left the Bloom Villa. It was only after she got into the taxi that she realized she had nowhere to go after leaving Nathaniel. She said to the driver, “Just go to a hotel.”
Nathaniel was in a meeting when he received a call from Betty.
He usually hated being interrupted during meetings, but today, he made an exception.
“Mr. Heilbronn, Mrs. Heilbronn has left with her suitcase, and I couldn’t stop her. Please find
someone to bring her back. She had just left.” Betty sounded extremely anxious.
Nathaniel rubbed his forehead. For some reason, he felt agitated.
They hadn’t gone through their divorce proceedings yet, and he didn’t expect Aurelia to sign the divorce agreement and leave without informing him. Her decisiveness caught him off guard.
He thought, “We’ve been together for three years. Am I really that unimportant to her?”
Nathaniel thought Aurelia would at least cry and make a scene. If she did, he would put aside his pride and try to appease her. But she didn’t shed a single tear, seemingly more anxious about the
divorce than him.
Thinking about Samuel, whom Aurelia often inquired about, Nathaniel was angry and jealous.
*No need,” he said coldly. He hung up, returned to the meeting room, and announced with a grim face, “Today’s meeting is over.” He then called his assistant, Zack Clark, over.
Nathaniel said, ‘Find out where Mrs. Heilbronn went and who she has been in contact with
recently.”
Then he changed his mind and said, “I mean, Aurelia Semona, Ms. Semona.” Zack was surprised. He didn’t know why Nathaniel was in a bad mood today. He guessed it had something to do with Aurelia because Nathaniel had the same terrible expression the last time he came to work after an

argument with Aurelia.
“Mr. Heilbronn, do you
nt me to check the call records as well?”
“Yes, check those who have been in contact with her, especially a man whose name is Samuel.”
“Alright.” Zack took the order and hurried to invest gate.
Nathaniel looked at the message Betty sent on his phone, his jaw clenched. Betty said: [Mrs. Heilbronn left this behind.] Below the text was a photo of his bank card.
He didn’t ask for the card back, yet she returned it of her own accord. Nathaniel froze Aurelia’s
card in a fit of anger.
He thought that if she had no money, she would naturally come back. When Aurelia finished registering and went to pay the bill at the hotel reception, she was told that her card had been declined. She calmed down and realized that Nathaniel had frozen her card.
She couldn’t stay at the hotel, so she had to ask her friend Ulysses Lopez for help.
Ulysses was Aurelia’s best friend. He was more interested in men than women.
Shortly after she hung up, Ulysses arrived in his car. Seeing the beautiful and fragile woman on the roadside, he felt desolate.
He cursed as he got out of the car and then began to help her with her luggage.

“I’ve told you before that you can’t marry a good–looking, wealthy, but bad–tempered man, but didn’t take it seriously. You should have a better marriage given to your pretty face. You’ve been with Nathaniel for three years. Are those all you got from him? I’ve never seen such a stingy.

His comment made sense, though it sounded harsh. Ulysses had been blaming Aurelia all along, and Aurelia couldn’t bear to listen anymore. She just wanted some peace.
“He also gives me a check, and I can fill in the amount myself.”
Aurelia leaned back in her seat, her voice gentle:
Ulysses continued to drive with one hand while scolding Nathaniel. When he heard that Nathaniel had given Aurelia a check, he finally stopped. “You know what? If you fill in an amount less than twenty million dollars, I will look down on you.”
“So be it. We can go get it right now.”

The money in her bank account was earned from her part–time job, and it had nothing to do with Nathaniel. She thought it was unfair for Nathaniel to freeze her card without her consent. It left her homeless and unable to stay at the hotel. Aurelia was furious. Since he was pushing her like this, he shouldn’t blame her for being heartless.
“Go to the bank and withdraw the money.”
Ulysses said with delight as he turned the steering wheel, “Aurelia, I’ve never seen so much cash in my life. Is this car spacious enough for such a sum of cash? Should we go and exchange it for a
longer version of the luxury car?”
“I’ve never seen it either. I’ll go see it today.”
Nathaniel was looking at documents in his office when Zack rushed in anxiously.
Before Zack could answer, Nathaniel asked, “Do you find anything?”
Zack looked flustered. “Mr. Heilbronn, Mrs. Heilbronn is withdrawing money from the bank.”
Nathaniel was puzzled. He thought, ‘I had just frozen her card. How could she withdraw money?”
Zack said, “Mrs. Heilbronn wants to withdraw twenty million dollars with the check you gave her. The bank, however, declined it as the amount she claimed was huge. The bank needs your
consent.”
Seeing Nathaniel’s face grow gloomy, Zack was so scared that even his voice trembled.
