Chapter 9 I Didn’t Push Her.
Chelsea, in a hospital gown, was being supported by Nathaniel as they approached. When she slipped, he swiftly caught her, his eyes filled with tenderness.
He carried her bag, matching her pace, his every move gentle.
They appeared as a loving couple.
Aurelia watched, a voice in her head repeating, ‘He’s here for her check–up.‘
It seemed he could be gentle to a woman. It was just that Aurelia was not the right woman.
Suddenly, Nathaniel’s gaze met Aurelia’s. She quickly looked away, but he approached, his face
devoid of the earlier warmth.
“What are you doing here?” he asked.
Aurelia nervously hid the medical report behind her.
Nathaniel narrowed his eyes, demanding, “What are you hiding? Show me.”
Aurelia whispered, “It’s nothing, just a gynecological issue.”
Chelsea, now beside them, hooked her arm through Nathaniel’s, smiling. “Don’t be so harsh,
Nathaniel. You’ve scared her,” she said.
Nathaniel’s expression softened. He wanted to Aurelia to Chelsea. But Chelsea smiled and said, “No need for introductions. Aurelia is my sister.” She turned to Aurelia, “Hello, Aurelia. It’s been a long time since we last met. I missed you. You had never invited me to your home. I brought you a gift.”
Nathaniel observed them. Chelsea explained, “Don’t you think we look alike? Aurelia is my sister. I take our father’s surname, and she takes her mother’s.”
A hint of surprise flashed in Nathaniel’s eyes.
Three years ago, Reed forced Nathaniel to marry Aurelia and said Aurelia was his friend’s
granddaughter. Reed asked Nathaniel to take care of Aurelia as she was alone and had no family to support her. Upon hearing what Chelsea had said, Nathaniel began to think that Aurelia must have lied to Reed.
Aurelia stood awkwardly, saying nothing.

Chelsea, holding Nathaniel’s arm, said, “Nathaniel, I’m a little cold. Can you get my coat from the
ward?” NI
Nathaniel nodded. Before leaving, he handed Chelsea a thermos cup from her bag, reminding her
to be careful.
Chelsea took a sip, saying, “Nathaniel is so thoughtful. He knows I like warm water.”
Then she turned to Aurelia, “Aurelia, I’ve been abroad for treatment these years. Why haven’t you visited Dad? He misses you and Grandma. When Dad brought me and my mom back that year, Grandma was angry. She cut ties with us and then took you out to live alone. Dad was anxious,
and it lasted for almost a month.”
Aurelia coldly laughed. “Nathaniel has left. You don’t have to act. After we left that year, Norman never called Grandma. It wasn’t until Grandma fell seriously ill that I went to beg him to find at doctor for her, but he didn’t even come to the hospital. As for his anxiety, I suppose it was because he was worried about the ten percent of the company shares in Grandma’s hands.” Norman was Aurelia’s father, but Aurelia had severed their relationship.
Aurelia’s father, Norman Thompson, ran a company that barely went public.
When Aurelia was in junior high, her mother, Helen Semona, died in a car accident.
The day after her funeral, Norman brought Chelsea and her mother home.
Aurelia’s grandmother couldn’t accept Chelsea and her mother, feeling they had damaged the family’s honor.
After a big argument with Norman, she took Aurelia and left, and since then, they served their relationship with Norman.
Aurelia was angry when she thought of this. Helen’s death was strange. Aurelia had always suspected that the accident was related to Chelsea and her mother, but she had not found any useful clues over the years. Aurelia’s words angered Chelsea. “How can you say that about Dad? He’s your biological father. He worked hard to support you and your mother, who only knows how
to do housework. He has been taking care of you for thirteen years. You are so ungrateful. I feel sorry for Dad.”
Initially, Aurelia didn’t want to argue with her and decided to leave. But when she heard Chelsea insulting Helen, she felt angry and sad. “I warn you not to talk about my mother. She is a good person, and Norman is not worthy of her. In addition, I will continue to investigate the truth about the accident and make sure that the culprit is brought to justice.”

“What do you mean? Your mother’s death was just her misfortune. It’s not someone else’s fault. Do you spend your grandmother’s shares? Give the money back!”
Aurelia found it ridiculous. “Do you think Norman starts from scratch? He initially used my mother’s money to start a business. You are only a year younger than me. He uses my mother’s money to raise his mistress and their illegitimate daughter. How dare you ask me to repay the money?” Chelsea was completely enraged. “How dare you say my mother is a mistress?”
Aurelia felt a faint
In in her lower abdomen. She held the medical report and walked towards a less crowded place, feeling a bit breathless. The doctor had just advised her to avoid getting agitated, and she wanted to shake off this crazy woman and leave. Aurelia would regret it if her baby was hurt.
Chelsea refused to let Aurelia go and followed, grabbing Aurelia’s arm. “You need to give me ant explanation and apology before you leave. Dad and my mom truly love each other. How could you say my mother is a mistress?”
Aurelia’s wound on her arm was pulled, and she instinctively shook Chelsea’s hand off..
*Your mother is the mistress, destroying someone else’s family. She deserves to be scolded. Since she dared to get into others‘ marriages, she should have expected a life full of accusations, right?”
Aurelia said.
Suddenly, a voice came from behind her.
Aurelia turned her head and was instantly stunned. For some reason, Chelsea fell to the ground, and the thermos cup in her hand rolled far away. Aurelia was dumbfounded. She clearly didn’t use much force. She just wanted to shake off Chelsea’s hand, and her strength was not enough to push
Chelsea down.
Sensing the danger approaching her, Aurelia looked up and saw Nathaniel’s angry face.
“Aurelia Semona!” he shouted her name, making Aurelia tremble. She stood there motionless.
“I didn’t push her,” she explained in a trembling voice.
