I turned my eyes to Ashley and she was just getting up from my chair and was now walking towards me. She didn’t blink and neither did she look away, her eyes were firmly on me as she walked with grace.
I took a step backward as she got closer, but just then the familiar scent of her perfume reached me where I stood, stirring up a mix of emotions I thought was long buried.
“What do you hope to gain from all this?” I asked again, looking into her eyes.
She scoffed and stopped walking, the corners of her lips curling into a sarcastic smile. “What do I hope to gain? Are you seriously asking that question?” She said, re–echoing my question.
“Don’t you get it, Nolan? This is what you get for what
you
did to me.”
I frowned and took another step backward, trying to process her words. “What are you talking about… are you
serious?”
Ashley’s smile widened even more and she burst into a short and malicious laughter. She turned her head and looked at Xavier who was watching in silence, he smiled at her and it seemed like a gesture for her to go on.
“Think, Nolan.” She said softly, keeping her eyes on me. I shook my head and walked towards her, frustrated about what she was getting at.
“All I remember, Ashley, is that I told you clearly that I didn’t want you anymore. I preferred Zoe and it’s obvious you’re still not over me and I get it, I really do. But that’s not enough reason for you to fuvk me up like this, you know how important this is to me.”
I wasn’t even sure that I made the right decision because Zoe turned out to be the craziest of the two of them or maybe they both were out of their minds.
She smiled, a mischievous glint in her eyes. “You’re thinking too highly of yourself, Nolan,” she said, her voice echoing with disgust. I could even tell from the look in her eyes that I was probably the most hated person in her life.
“Divorcing me wasn’t enough. You had to send the rogues after me, you wanted me dead even after the humiliation I suffered in your hands.”
I stepped back, shocked by her words. “What the heck are you talking about?” I exclaimed. “Do you think I’ll go so low? I did no such thing and I don’t even have a reason to hurt you, Ashley. I get it, I didn’t want you that time and honestly, nothing has changed, but I wouldn’t hurt you.”
Ashley rolled her eyes and pointed at me. “You freaking did, Nolan. You don’t have to lie about it anymore. You thought you could get rid of me for good. But you were wrong because guess what… I’m still here, and now I will take everything away from you.”
I raised my hand and moved towards her, trying to convince her that she had been fed lies, but I didn’t know. “You’re making this up, Ashley. I would never hurt you ” I said again, my frustration getting to the surface.
“I get it that you hate me, but if this is why you’re doing this, you’re getting it wrong. Believe me.”
“Am I?” She shot back, moving closer to me, her eyes wide with rage. “Just accept it, Nolan. You’re done.” She said with triumph.
I took a deep breath and steadied my breathing. I couldn’t believe this, I couldn’t believe how ignorant and oblivious she
was.

“Did you tell her this? Did you?” I said sharply, turning towards Xavier and pointing at him. “I know you hate me man, and I hate you too, but you didn’t have to lie to her.”
Xavier didn’t utter any words, he just kept staring at me with a weird and foolish smile on his face. I wanted to charge towards him and smack the grin off his face, but I couldn’t.
“Take a deep breath, Nolan.” I heard my wolf speak. It was the first time in a while and I had to listen to him. I stepped backward and turned around, scratching my head.
I didn’t know that someone would hurt her, if I had known I would have helped. I tried to think of someone who would hurt her and the only person that could come to mind was Zoe. That fuvking bitch.
Take it back, Ashley,” I said, suddenly turning back to face her. “Take everything back and let’s fight another way. If that’s what you want, I’ll give it to you, but you can’t take my company. You know how much this means to me, Ashley. You can’t do this!” I yelled.
“Oh yes I can, and I already did.” She shot back, slamming her fist against my table, and cracking the glass in the process.
“I know how important it is and that’s why I took it from you. This is only the beginning and I’d advise you now, Nolan Leave, go back to your pack and think, think hard about what I am going to take from you next because if you don’t, you won’t see me coming.”
“Fuvk you!” I said to her, unable to hold back my anger and the disgust I felt about the whole situation.
“Well, I think it’s time to leave now.” She said, signaling to the guards who were still in the room. They approached me like robots, and they looked dumb as they did.
“You heard the boss, sir. I think it’s time to-.”
His neck was already broken before he could complete his statement. He was lying on the floor and I was looking down on him. I sighed and fixed my jacket, adjusting the buttons.
“You should hire better security,” I said to Ashley and Xavier, before turning to leave. Ashley was right. I needed to go and figure this out because I wasn’t going to just let this go. I wouldn’t beg, I couldn’t.

I reached the door and saw Lisa standing there. She overheard all of what we said and she was looking at me with fear in her eyes, probably because I just killed someone and was acting like it was nothing.
Are you just going to stand there?” I said to her sharply. She jolted out of whatever she was in and followed me from behind.
“Get Zoe on the phone, now!” I barked at her as I made my way out of my company.
