Lenora and Cassidy parted ways after their meal. As Lenora left the restaurant, she made a quick stop at MorningMyst Group, where she bumped into Lillian, who had just returned from helping her finalize a contract with Donald.
“Hi, Ms. Maynard,” greeted Lillian.
Lenora nodded, taking the contract from her hands. “Thank you. I’ll give you a raise this month.”
Lenora was generous with her employees; Lillian had been with her for five years. In the second year, Lenora had given her some company shares, and by the third year, Lillian’s salary alone had reached seven figures.
But as they said, no one would mind having too much money.
Lillian’s face showed a rare smile of happiness. “Thank you.”
Lenora smiled back. “By the way, did Zhenith Group plan to buy the film rights for ‘Dream Lover‘ recently?”
“Yes, they offered $50 thousand dollars, and we’re currently drafting the contract with Dawn Rights,” said Lillian.
Dawn Rights was a cultural company Lenora had invested in three years ago. It had been doing well lately, and during its Series B funding round, Lenora had invested an additional 1.5 million dollars, now holding thirty percent of the shares.
Although she usually didn’t get involved in day–to–day operations as an investor–having only veto power–she needed to be informed about significant deals like this IP sale.
At first, she hadn’t objected, but now she had concerns.
Zhenith Group was one of the major media conglomerates owned by the Valentine family. It produced several popular TV dramas in recent years, presenting an opportunity for Dawn Rights.
However, Devon, one of Harley’s friends, had once warned Harley to be cautious around Lenora, calling her a man–eater.
“Could you please call Dawn Rights and let them know I prefer not to sign with Zhenith Group? I’d rather go with Galaxy Studio.
Lillian looked surprised. “May I ask why?”
Lenora’s eyes sparkled with mischief as she smiled brightly. “No particular reason. I just don’t like Zhenith Group’s heir.”
“Devon?” asked Lillian.
“Yes, him.”
Lillian watched Lenora’s carefree smile, wanting to ask if it was because of Harley but deciding against it.
She was one of the few who knew that Lenora and Harley had once been married. When Lenora and Harley divorced, she felt quite sorry for Lenora.
Yet, just a few months later, Lenora had secured a deal with another company.
The joys of being wealthy were beyond Lillian’s imagination, and Lenora seemed incapable of being tied down by emotions. Lillian smiled. “Okay, I see.”
“Good, I’m heading home now” Lenora waved the contract in her hand and walked into the elevator on her high heels.
Lillian watched the elevator doors close slowly, feeling envious instead of the sympathy she had felt all day due to the trending searches.

When Lenora got back to her villa, it was already past four in the afternoon. She reviewed the contract briefly before taking the steak she had bought yesterday out of the fridge to thaw. Using her kitchen skills–which bordered on setting the kitchen on fire–she managed to cook a steak that wasn’t too burnt to eat,
After dinner, she opened a bottle of champagne and settled on the couch to watch a classic Madiciands romance movie.
Meanwhile, Twitter exploded again.
Aran and Emory tagged Lenora and posted the exact same post almost simultaneously, [Please spare our salary, Ms. Maynard!] The photos attached were of each of them with Lenora and Cassidy.
Cassidy also posted on Twitter around the same time, tagging Lenora, [I’ve been holding on for a long time; now that you’re divorced, hurry back to manage the company. I don’t want to be exhausted by heartache alone anymore.] The accompanying photo was of Lenora sitting in a meeting room.
Ten minutes later, Anthony also posted and tagged Lenora on Twitter. [Hello, my new boss.] The picture was from the airport that day when Cassidy, Lenora, and he were walking together.
Coincidentally, it turned out that Anthony’s Twitter account, which started as a model from an unknown small company, had become an artist for Ormonde Entertainment.
As soon as these four Twitter posts were released, the whole internet exploded with reactions.
[Keeping a young lover?]
[Scamming for money and affection?]
[Lenora, as the boss lady, really needs this?]
The group of netizens who had just been cursing and demanding to expose Lenora’s home address quickly fell silent.
[Who could have imagined this?]
The online situation changed rapidly, from Lenora being viciously criticized during the day to suddenly becoming extremely popular overnight. Lenora remained calm and unmoved amidst the storm. If not for Cassidy calling her excitedly, she would still be immersed in the romance of that Madiciands movie.
After hanging up the phone, Lenora leisurely picked up the tablet beside her, logged into Twitter, and as soon as she entered, she was stuck. She then had to use her mobile phone in a non–logged state to view the various expressions in the face–slapping scene.
She watched for a while and noticed some people still struggling Without any courtesy, Lenora called Lillian directly.
Lillian was also indulging in some juicy gossip, getting quite heated. When she received a call from Lenora, she shed her usual composed and refined demeanor for once. “Ms. Maynard, are you finally ready to stop keeping a low profile?”
Lenora couldn’t help but think that her usually dignified secretary sounded a bit like the silly Cassidy.
Realizing her excitement, Lillian felt a bit embarrassed. “I’m sorry for getting excited. What can I do for you?”
Yes, there’s something. Can you work overtime to contact Lawyer Bert Pierce? Ask her to draft a warning for my Twitter account.”
Lillian understood immediately. “Sure, I’ll handle it right away.
Lenora smiled in satisfaction. “Okay.”

She always liked to be thorough. She wouldn’t let Carla off the hook, nor those marketing accounts.
I’m just that petty. Bring it on if you dare.‘ thought Lenora.
With the situation taking a dramatic turn, many people were left embarrassed.Lenora felt great and decided to take a relaxing bath and get some sleep early. “Tomorrow will be another beautiful day.’
That night, Lenora turned off her phone before 10 PM and went to bed.

Meanwhile, Harley had just left a dinner meeting and his expression changed multiple times after hearing Matthew’s words, finally settling into an icy demeanor as he coldly stared at Matthew. “Who told you to say all this?”
Matthew froze, lowering his head quickly, too afraid to speak further.
Just that afternoon, Harley had asked him to keep an eye on what Lenora was up to regarding the Carla situation.
Now, for paying attention, he got scolded instead. He felt wronged but dared not say anything.
Seeing Matthew’s expression, Harley frowned. “Why look like that?”
“N–nothing,” said Matthew.
Harley was irritated and didn’t want to talk more. He pressed his temple with his fingers, grunted, and walked out of the hotel.
Once in the car, he closed his eyes, but his mind was far from calm. ‘How much has Lenora kept from me?‘
