Chapter 30
Aran raised his eyebrows. “Fine, let’s follow the proper procedures then.” As he spoke, he had already taken out his phone, ready to call the traffic police.
Harley, standing nearby, watched him coldly. “If you’re not afraid of making entertainment headlines tomorrow, I can certainly go through the procedures with you.”
Aran’s expression stiffened. He was currently in talks for the lead role in a movie, and any negative publicity at this time could potentially derail his chances. It wasn’t something he could afford to lose.
He didn’t want to involve the traffic police, nor did he want to be taken advantage of, but now that Harley had him over a barrel, he had no choice but to pay the price. “Alright, 30 thousand dollars it is.”
However, Harley had changed his mind and no longer wanted Aran to pay the 30 thousand dollars. “Let the person inside the car come out and apologize to me; you don’t need to pay anything.”
Aran was infuriated. “Mr. Brandt, you may be wealthy, but that doesn’t mean I can’t afford 30 thousand dollars.”
Harley, having changed his mind, paid no attention and said bluntly, “Have her come out or call the police-choose one.”
“Don’t push your luck, Harley!” Aran did
want Lenora involved at all in this matter.
But just as he said that, Lenora’s calm voice reached them. “Mr. Brandt, do you
need something from me?”
Somehow, Lenora had already pushed open the car door and stepped out.
Seeing her emerge, Aran’s expression shifted. “Lenora-
Lenora smiled at Aran. “It’s okay. Go back inside the car; I’ll handle this.”
She had been sitting in the car for a while, and after observing for five or six minutes without any resolution to the situation, she realized that Harley was deliberately troubling Aran. So, she decided to push open the car door and step outside.
As soon as she got out, she heard Harley’s ultimatum to Aran. After a moment’s thought, she guessed it might have something to do with their kiss at Elegance Manor.

In hindsight, she regretted her impulsive actions. After all, life had been going wonderfully for her in the months since their divorce; she felt Harley was like a relic from her past life.
She signed inwardly, ‘Sigh, all because of a moment of impulse!

Aran hesitated, but meeting Lenora’s confident gaze, he nodded and went back into the car.
Devon was stunned by Lenora’s appearance today. He had always known Lenora was exceptionally beautiful, but during the past three years, she had been quietly living within the Brandt family, attending occasional parties with modest attire that neither stood out nor revealed her full beauty.
Now, dressed as she was, she shone brightly as if a dusty pearl had been polished to reveal its true luster,
While Devon was still marveling at Lenora’s stunning beauty, he caught sight of Harley’s icy glare.
He had planned to remain a silent observer, but Harley’s glare made him retreat back into the car.
With the uninvolved parties sent away, Harley looked at Lenora standing before him. Whether it was her makeup or something else, her cheeks were slightly flushed, her captivating eyes met his calmly, and her form-fitting dress accentuated her willowy waist.

Looking at her, he suddenly felt an urge to hide her charm. This thought irritated him further, especially recalling their kiss from hours earlier.
Lenora waited for a while, but when Harley didn’t speak, she raised her eyebrows. “Mr. Brandt?”
Hearing her prompt, Harley’s expression darkened. “Go away.”
Lenora’s smile faded slightly. “Thank you then,” she said politely, though her smile didn’t reach her eyes, exuding distance and coldness.
Harley felt a stab in his chest, a dull ache settling in. Under the moonlight, his face was cold.
Lenora had already turned back to the car, glancing at Harley outside the window. With just one look, she retracted her gaze and bent down to fasten her seatbelt again.
“He didn’t trouble you, did he?” Aran asked. Though it had only been half a minute and he had seen nothing happen from inside the car, he was still concerned.
Hearing his question, Lenora let out a light laugh. “How could he possibly trouble me?”
‘Ah, she’s so beautiful!’ Aran thought, his throat tightening slightly at the sight of her smile. “That’s good.”
Lenora said, “It’s late; let’s go.”
Aran nodded and looked away, daring not to meet Lenora’s gaze again. His distraction had caused him to rear-end the car in the first place.
By the time they arrived at Lenora’s villa, it was already one in the morning. Feeling exhausted, Lenora simply said goodnight to Aran and carried the gift bag back into her villa.
“Leslie, turn off tomorrow’s alarm,” Lenora told her smart device.
“Okay.”
Lenora hadn’t stayed up this late in four or five years and fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow after taking a shower.
She had a good night’s sleep, unlike Harley, who barely slept at all.
He spent the whole night tormented by thoughts of Lenora’s kiss or the sight of her face under the moonlight after the rear- end collision on their way back.
Her beauty was dazzling, stunningly so.
He had been married to Lenora for three years without ever really looking at her. In his mind, his beautiful woman with good pretenses, a gold digger.

But in the four months since their divorce, his ex-wife had continuously his.
He thought she was materialistic, that she married him for his money, and liked him only because he happened to look the way she liked and came from a noble background. But when they divorced, she didn’t ask for anything, which was completely out of character for someone materialistic.
During their marriage, she was tormented by Gwen at the Brandt family mansion, and Gwen would call him occasionally complaining about Lenora, saying she was stupid and useless.
He never thought Lenora was stupid; if she were, she wouldn’t have insisted on marrying him. But now, thinking back, he did feel she was somewhat foolish for marrying him and then leaving without asking for a penny.
He hadn’t planned to divorce her so quickly; he intended to wait for the right moment to compensate her before divorcing.

For more than four months after the divorce, he thought she would regret it and come begging him to take her back. But she didn’t.

Not only did she not regret it, but she also didn’t come crawling back, and she seemed to be living even better than when she was with the Brandts, each day better than the last.
She made headlines every day with different young heartthrobs, and her life became more colorful after leaving him. And somehow, Ormonde Entertainment became her company.
Lenora slapped everyone in the face who called her a gold digger, including him.
Harley lit a cigarette. As the smoke curled around him, he suddenly remembered their wedding day when she looked at him and said, “Harley, please take care of me for the rest of my life.”
It was so unbelievable; he actually reminisced about the past.
