Chapter 40
Lenora had just finished dinner when she received a call from Cassidy.
The night was dark outside as she poured herself a glass of juice and stepped onto the balcony, gazing at the moon. With her phone in one hand, she asked, “Did you find out?”
“Wow, Nora, you’re really something!” Cassidy exclaimed dramatically. “Honestly, did you plant a bug on me?”
Lenora chuckled lightly, “Not hard to guess.”
With how often Katelyn was causing trouble for her, it was clear there could be no one else.
Suddenly, Cassidy seemed to remember something. “What were you doing at the Brandt family’s this afternoon?”
Lenora took a sip of her juice and replied slowly, “Not much. Carla swapped my graduation certificate for a fake one.”
“What? What’s she up to?” Cassidy asked.
“Who knows?” Lenora shrugged. “But I doubt she’ll dare to do anything now.”
It was strange that Harley had personally come back to help her retrieve her diploma.
With him in the picture, Carla wouldn’t dare to act out.
“So, what’s going on with you and Harley?” Cassidy inquired.
Lenora had barely left the Brandt house when she saw a post on Twitter about her trying to reconcile with Harley.
The news spread quickly, but thanks to Dashnell’s earlier comments, people were more rational this time and didn’t jump to conclusions.
However, the post was soon deleted.
“Did you have Lillian deal with that post?” Cassidy asked.
Lenora raised an eyebrow. “Wasn’t that you?”
“…I thought it was you,” Cassidy replied.
“Not me.” Lenora pursed her lips, looking down at her orange juice. “Can you find out who did it?”
It was either Carla or Katelyn who had spread the rumors. Both were eager to see her humiliated. They wouldn’t trouble and then help her out simultaneously.

Cassidy replied, “I’ll have Linda check! Oh, and I’ve got the dress for the Stellar Awards Gala ready for you, so don’t buy one yourself!”
To be honest, if Cassidy hadn’t mentioned it, Lenora would have completely forgotten. “Thanks.”
After finishing her juice, she said, “I’m off to bed.”
“It’s only ten o’clock! Isn’t nightlife just beginning?” Cassidy protested.
Lenora lazily replied, “Beauty sleep.”
‘She looks good enough already,’ Cassidy thought.

Chapter 39
Loosening his tic, he stormed back inside.
Carla was sipping a drink in the lounge, her hands trembling as he entered. “Harley…” she said.

“If you mess with her again, don’t expect me to be so forgiving.” His voice was low, filled with enough venom to make Carla pale.
She sat there in a daze, unable to utter a single word as she watched Harley’s retreating figure.
As Harley’s car pulled away outside, Carla stood up and walked to the balcony, watching until he was gone.
Confused and angry, she thought, ‘He never cared about Lenora before. Now, it seems like he actually likes her.‘
The more Carla thought about it, the darker her expression grew.
