Chapter 42
Lenora was never big on the gym scene. She hated working out with other people around, so back when she was married, she used Harley’s private gym for her runs.
After the divorce, she took a solo trip to Coniston and quickly realized her stamina had taken a nosedive. Cassidy suggested she hire a personal trainer and even recommended a female coach.
That’s how Lenora found herself back at the gym, doing three or four sessions a week, each about two hours long.
After today’s workout, she left the gym around six in the evening. It was already dark outside.
Her phone buzzed with several missed calls from Cassidy. Smirking, Lenora ducked into a nearby restaurant for dinner.
Once she ordered, she opened up WhatsApp and found a long string of texts from Cassidy, along with a video link.
She clicked on the video and instantly understood what was up.
Apparently, someone had filmed her run–in with Katelyn at lunch and uploaded it to YouTube.
At first, people were just impressed by how cool and confident Lenora looked, and her quick comebacks had folks cheering.
But then, they figured out who was in the video: Harley’s ex–wife and his rumored ‘girlfriend‘. Naturally, the video went viral.
Skimming the comments, Lenora couldn’t help but smile.
Most of them were compliments, comparing her favorably to Katelyn.
‘Guess everyone can see it now, except Harly,’ she thought.
She wasn’t one to gloat, but she had to admit, it felt good seeing most of the comments rooting for her.
She skimmed through the comments from viewers.

Comments like these definitely put Lenora in a great mood.
Cassidy had been watching the video too, it seemed. She messaged: [She is shameless. Isn’t she with Harley? What’s she doing with Ethan? Wonder if Harley knows about this?]
Lenora chuckled, replying: [If I had to guess, Harley’s with no one.]
Lenora initially believed that Harley still had feelings for Katelyn. However, after everythin
few months, it seemed he wasn’t focused on anyone–he simply didn’t have feelings at all.
Thinking about it that way gave Lenora a small sense of comfort

She realized that over the past few months, she’d stopped caring about Harley and Katelyn’s drama.
Being single wasn’t half bad.
In fact, loving herself was more than enough.

“…Wow, if that’s the case, that would be amazing! But Harley must be getting played by Katelyn too, right? Lenora, I suddenly have a wicked idea,” Cassidy said, feeling amused.
Lenora smirked, texting back: [I can imagine how wicked your ideas are, so I suggest you don’t act on them.]
Cassidy, holding her phone, felt a bit guilty. [Come on, don’t be like that, Nora!]
When Lenora’s pasta arrived, she quickly replied that she was eating and then set her phone aside, deciding not to chat with Cassidy any further.
After finishing her pasta, Lenora took a stroll around the nearby mall and bought a bouquet before driving back to her villa.
That evening, she treated herself to a bath and enjoyed a restful night’s sleep.
The next morning, she woke to a call from Lillian, who informed her that Isaac, the CEO of Barlow Ventures, wanted a meeting.
Still waking up, Lenora asked, “Isaac wants to meet with me?”
Lillian explained, “Yes, Ms. Maynard. Barlow Ventures has been struggling financially, and Isaac might be looking to discuss a buyout or selling off shares.”
“Alright, set it up,” Lenora replied, then added, “But I don’t want to meet him as Samantha.”
If Isaac finds out she’s Samantha, then Harley and Devon will know too.
She didn’t want to invite unwanted attention from Harley and Devon.
Lillian understood. “Got it, Ms. Maynard.”
After that, Lenora made herself some oatmeal and relaxed.
By eleven, Lillian called back, letting her know the meeting was set for the next day.
With some free time, Lenora booked a facial.
While leaving the spa, she ran into Gwen and her circle of friends.
Lenora smiled as she walked past them. Gwen looked up, expecting Lenora to greet her, but was surprised when Lenora didn’t even glance her way and just walked on by.
Lenora hadn’t walked far when someone said, “Mrs. Brandt, wasn’t that Lenora?”
“Maybe? I wasn’t paying attention,” she replied, trying to brush it off.
“So rude,” the woman continued. “Didn’t even say hello.”
In this circle of socialites, Gwen had gained the highest status thanks to Harley’s charm, and she had also earned a fair amount of attention for “taming” Lenora.
Now, Lenora seemed like a completely different person, and Gwen couldn’t let anyone realize that Lenora no longer cared about the Brandt family.
Hearing this, Gwen scoffed, “So Harley divorced her.”
The other woman nodded in agreement.
Lenora heard every word but simply smiled to herself. She was done with the Brandt family drama.

She headed over to GlobCom Tech for a meeting, only to run into Harley’s old friend, Orlando.
Unlike Devon, Orlando wasn’t obnoxious, so she didn’t mind him too much.
But she still wasn’t in the mood for small talk with anyone from Harley’s past.
But then Orlando, who was usually so proud and aloof, suddenly called out to her, “Lenora.”
She stopped, surprised. “Mr. Milton?”
The Milton family was also involved in investments, so running into Orlando here made Lenora suspect he knew the
reason.
Orlando looked at her and asked, “Are you here to see someone?”
Lenora gave him a cool smile. “So you were tracking my social calendar, Mr. Milton.”
He didn’t flinch. “Just curious.”
He paused for a moment before adding, “It’s nothing important. I won’t keep you.”
With a nod, Lenora strode off into the elevator.
