Dhan Harper didn’t exactly rush to get here
His face was tight with frustration when he arrived–understandable, comidering how often I’d used stunts like this to drag him away from Ivy Chandler back when we were together.
It was the one thing he couldn’t stand about me.

“What happened tonight was a mistake. You and I were never supposed to see each other again.”
I pushed myself to my feet, intending to leave, but my hody betrayed me.
My legs gave out, and I stumbled straight into Ethan’s arms.

The glass sitting on it toppled, shattering on the floor.

Blood pooled instantly, staining the floor.
Dibar’s face shifted from frustration to panic in an instant.
Without saying a word, he scooped me up and strode toward the door.
“We’re going to the hospital,” he said, his tone leaving no room for argument.
But as he opened the car door, he froze.
