Tlay the bed, completely drained.
Too much had happened in just ese day, so much that I could barely keep op,
But I couldn’t afford to relax, not even for a secondl
The whorls were already in motion, and there was no turning back none.
I had to keep creating opportunities to get close to Ethan Harper.
Still, exhaustion won out, and I fell asleep before I could think of my next move,
What I didn’t expect was for Dhan in show up minted.
I woke to the smell of food–familiar, comforting, and unmistakably Ethan’s cooking.
Curious. I made my way to the kitchen.
He was just finishing the last dish.

“You’re up? Go wash up; the food’s ready.”
I stood there, frozen, not moving a muscle.
“What are you standing there for?” he asked, urging me again.
“Nothing,” I said, shaking my head slightly.

Ignoring him, I washed up and sat down to eat without another word
As I picked at the food, Ethan tried to fill the silence.
“Your hand’s out of commission for a while. Tean hire someone to come and cook for you.”
“That’s not necessary. I’ll just order takeout.”
My reply seemed to throw him off,
Back when we were together, I couldn’t stomach takeout.
My sensitive stomach would rebel, and I was so pirky about food that Ethan insisted on cooking everything himself no matter how busy he was.
I was happily eating takeout and even enjoying foods I used to hate–like carrots.
Dthan watched me, his gaze growing more complicated with every bite I took
Finally, he stood and left without saying much else.
As soon as the door closed behind him, I updated my social media.
This time, it was a photo of the meal he’d made, a table full of his signature dishes

In the days that followed, Ethan came by like clockwerk.
Every day, he showed up at my place, withmt fill
And every day, I updated my feed.
Sometimes it was pictures of Ethan cooking, other times it was vague snapshoes of scenic views accasionally, Fil post photos of the umall gifta he brought over.
Whenever he went out of his way to do something nice, I’d put on a sad face,
If he asked what was wrong, I’d sigh and tell him I missed Cadel,
But I never mentioned why

I know Ethan wouldn’t be able to resist his curiosity for lung
He’d want to know why things ended between me and Caleb
But I also knew that Caleb would likely come looking for me before Ethan could even ask.
