Chapter 45 The Beast
Shana was speechless.
Sc*mbag, are you even human? I’m sick, and you’re still getting aroused.
Her anger flared as she turned her head away, but she held back her tears.

Henry took a deep breath, trying to calm the burning desire inside him. He set up a small table and placed it on the bed, then placed the bowl of grits on top.
“Aren’t you hungry? I just went to get you some food,” he said.
Although his words seemed innocent, his actions and tone made him seem insufferable, leaving her unable to feel any gratitude.
Shana’s gaze fell on the steaming grits, and her stomach growled. She was so hungry that she instinctively swallowed
With Judy not around, she absentmindedly asked, “When did you order takeout?”
Did he order it in anticipation of when she would wake up?
Henry seemed to catch on to her thoughts. He frowned, thrusting a spoon into her hand, his tone tinged with clear irritation. “Cooking grits isn’t hard.”
Did he imply that he cooked them himself?
Could a rich heir like him, who never set foot in the kitchen, actually cook?
Shana hesitated with the spoon hovering at her lips, then she finally asked, “It’s not poisonous, right?”
Henry was so enraged that he burst out laughing, saying, “Your life isn’t valuable enough for me to risk mine just to kill you.”
Shana suppressed the urge to roll her eyes and finally noticed that Henry wasn’t in casual home clothes. He wore a shirt and slacks, with the top three buttons undone and the sleeves rolled up. His exposed muscular forearms exuded a sensual, powerful energy.
But the shirt was wrinkled, with noticeable sweat stains on the chest, and his eyes were bloodshot. A few days of stubble had appeared on his jaw.
Given his appearance, it was evident that he had been busy taking care of her since his return. He knew she’d be hungry when she woke up, so he specifically made the grits and kept them warm.
After she finally grasped the situation, Henry’s expression softened slightly. He pushed the bowl of grits toward her, his tone enigmatic. He said, “I’m new to cooking, but I’ve already tasted it. It’s fine. Eat it. Aren’t you hungry?”
Shana snapped out of her thoughts and looked up at him, instantly detecting the underlying “praise me” implication in his words.
After all, the heir of a prestigious family was cooking grits for the first time. Wasn’t that touching?

Shana forced a smile but didn’t fulfill his demand. “Mr. Floyd, it’s just a bowl of grits. If I didn’t know better, I’d think you cooked me a grand feast.
“It’s the year 2420; can’t we be a little more practical?” she added.
Henry struggled to find the right words.
Shana reached out for her phone and demanded, “Give my phone back. I want to order takeout. Even if it’s just something light, I’m not eating your food!”
She was no longer the gullible fool susceptible to small acts of kindness.
Henry didn’t expect this kind of response. His expression darkened, and his frustration grew.
D*mn Larry, always saying women care about little details. Shana was clearly not the type to fall for this.
He grabbed a chair and sat down, narrowing his dark eyes, which were full of gloom.
The room immediately filled with tension.
In the past, Shana would’ve been terrified of seeing him upset. Well, it wasn’t exactly fear–it was because she cared about him and didn’t want to see him angry. So, she is constantly second–guessing herself, wondering what she did wrong if she offended him.
After a cycle of self–doubt, she became more cautious, gradually losing herself.
But now he thought he could control her like this? He must be dreaming!
Shana acted as though she didn’t notice and kept her hand out. “Give me my phone back!”
The two of them stared at each other in silence for a few seconds before he suddenly spoke. “Shana, what will it take for you to stop being so sarcastic and act normal?”
She fell silent.
Shana couldn’t quite express her feelings at that moment.
From this sc*mbag’s perspective, all her actions after awakening were considered abnormal. Only if she meekly loved him, would she be fulfilling her role correctly?
Her eyes stung with tears, remembering all the times she’d sacrificed everything for him.
She lowered her gaze to hide the tears threatening to fall. Shane spoke in a nonchalant tone, “Would you agree to whatever I demand?”
Henry sat back, elegantly adjusting his sleeves. “Say it.”
Shana sniffled slightly, and since he was asking, she decided to match his audacity.
She opened her mouth without hesitation. “You give me half of your wealth, and I’ll say whatever you want.”
With enough money, she could put on an Oscar–worthy performance.

“Dream on.”
His response was no surprise. Shana sneered coldly, “Men’s words are nothing but lies.”
“However….
He paused, pulled out his phone, and quickly took action. Then he pulled her phone from his pocket and tossed it back at her.
Shana was confused but grabbed the phone and looked at the screen, her eyes widening as she saw a new bank transfer notification.
Henry had given her a substantial amount of money.
“What’s this supposed to mean?”
One moment, he told her to dream on, and the next, he gave her money. Was he schizophrenic or something?
Henry leaned back in his chair, his legs crossed with ease. He glanced at her without explaining, simply saying, “Don’t want it? Then give it back!”
Shana instinctively hugged the phone to her chest, shaking her head. “Once you give it to me, it’s mine. Don’t even think about taking it back.”
Her greedy expression made Henry snicker. He pointed at the grits and commanded, “Eat it.”
Shana suddenly understood.
He had switched tactics, now trying to bribe her with money.
Without missing a beat, she flashed a wide grin and gave up any resistance. “Alright, I’ll eat it.”
When it came to money, she wouldn’t turn it down.
This bowl of grits suddenly tasted amazing, coupled with the money she received.
As she obediently ate the grits, Henry’s discomfort eased a little. But as he thought about her eating just for the money, a knot formed in his chest.
He watched her with a cold sneer. “You’re so happy over such a small amount of money. Why do you insist on getting divorced from me?”
Being his wife meant she could enjoy endless luxury, and he had never restricted her spending.
Shana, eating the grits worth five figures, replied, “It’s different between the money you earn yourself and the money you get from your husband’s charity; I’d choose the former.”
At least she wouldn’t be labeled lazy and a gold–digger when things fell apart.
Henry furrowed his brows, clearly displeased with her response. His lips parted to speak when his phone rang suddenly.
He picked it up, and within seconds, the anger that had been on his face melted away, replaced with

Shana bit her spoon, her motion freezing slightly.

Who else could turn this sc*mbag’s mood from dark to bright in an instant? It didn’t take much to guess- it was his true love, the homewrecker.
Henry stood up and walked out of the room with long strides, his voice fading as he spoke.
After a while, Shana turned her head and saw the empty chair.
It was always the same. Even when he came back, his heart was still with another woman. But she didn’t
waver.
In reality, she had only eaten a few bites of grits, but suddenly, she felt full and had no appetite left.
