Perhaps it was the sound of their arguing that made Grace peek out from the kitchen. She was glancing toward them.
Shana sniffed, her nose tinged with bitterness. She was extremely furious, but to her surprise, she became strangely calm.
She didn’t want to bring up the painful past here. If Audrey overheard, it would only break her heart.
She lifted her gaze again; it was neutral. She smirked coldly and said, “If that’s how you feel, there’s nothing I can do about it.”
Henry’s eyes pierced her like daggers and threatened to tear her apart. His words almost squeezed through his teeth. “Shana, are you admitting it?”
Shana struggled to find the right words. How was it difficult to communicate with him when he usually had such a high IQ?
She held back her frustration but couldn’t stop herself from replying, “Mr. Floyd, can you stop looking for trouble? After we got married, you never once came back with me. My grandmother mistakenly thought you were someone else. Whose fault is that?”
The implication was clear; you had it coming.
Henry’s face darkened and he accused, “Shana, you’re publicly wearing a cuckold on my head, and you still think you’re right?”
At the mention of this, Shana didn’t feel the slightest bit guilty. She retorted, “It’s a mutual thing, isn’t it?” He had betrayed her countless times. What right did he have to criticize her? Moreover, he had actually done it for real, while hers had been a misunderstanding.
She hadn’t complained yet, but now he was ranting? Was he the only one who could talk?
Henry felt his blood pressure skyrocket. His chest felt like a heavy stone was pressing down on it, making it hard to breathe.
Was this woman really the wife that had been pestering him for three years?
When she was in love with him, she used every trick to bind him to her, but now that she had a new interest, she wanted to toss him aside like yesterday’s news,
What did she think of their marriage? What did she think of him, Henry? Was he simply a dog that she could summon and dismiss as she pleased?
Audrey called them together from the kitchen to say dinner was ready,
Shana quickly composed herself, softening her tone. “Alright, we’ll be right there:
Henry watched as she effortlessly switched to a completely different persona. The argument from just moments ago didn’t matter to her at all How he felt was of no concern to her

What a heartless woman!
“Mr. Floyd, let’s have lunch.” Shana reached out to grab his arm.

They could argue all they wanted in private, but in public, they still had to present themselves as a loving couple.
The next moment, Henry shoved her hand away. His face was dark with fury. “How can you eat?”
“Of course I can. I’ve been craving home–cooked food for so long.” As she spoke, Shana couldn’t help but swallow.
“Fine, very fine.” Henry clicked his tongue and shot her a venomous look before storming off.
Shana rolled her eyes.
A sc*mbag was always a sc*mbag, with a temper just as foul.
If he didn’t want to eat, so be it. She couldn’t care less about catering to him.
When Shana walked into the dining room, the table was already filled with her favorite dishes.
She eagerly sat down, not even bothering to pick up a fork. She picked up a small piece of chicken with her hands and popped it into her mouth.
It was incredibly delicious. She sighed in satisfaction. “This is it, so tasty!”
Audrey playfully tapped her nose. “You little glutton, still acting so recklessly even after getting married. Aren’t you afraid people will laugh at you?”
In the aristocratic circles, people were expected to follow certain rules.
Earlier, just watching Henry move had shown she was in the presence of someone with high status.
Shana smiled as she playfully replied, “But we’re at home, right? I can do whatever feels comfortable. Besides…

At the Floyds, she had carefully followed their rules for three years, always striving to be the dignified, graceful, well–mannered mistress of the house that radiated aristocratic charm. But what did it matter?
Those who looked down on her continued to do so, mocking her for foolishly believing she could climb the ladder. A frog would never turn into a swan.
Looking back, if Duncan hadn’t come to propose, she and Henry would have been from two completely different worlds with no intersection.
Even if they had forced the marriage, it still wouldn’t have ended well.
Many things were impossible to force into place. She hadn’t wanted to face it before, but now she had woken up to the truth.
“And what else?” Audrey asked as she served her a bowl of soup
Shana snapped out of her thoughts and smiled. “Nothing

She lifted the bowl and took a sip of the soup, only then realizing that Cyrus was no longer there. “Grandma, where’s Dr. Grant?”
“Oh, Cyrus said he had other matters to attend to and had to leave. He just left a moment ago.”

“I see,” Shana said, nodding. He was part of a medical team, and being away for too long wouldn’t be ideal.
Not seeing Henry around, Audrey asked, “Shana, where’s Henry?”
“He’s feeling sick. He didn’t adapt well with the change in environment, so he decided not to eat and went
to rest.”
“Is it serious?”
“It’s fine; he’s strong. Just needs some hot water. Grandma, don’t worry about him. Let’s eat!”

and called out to her, “Grace, come join us! I’m going to finish everything on this
As Cyrus stepped out, he noticed a sleek black luxury car parked on the side of the road. A tall man was leaning against it, a cigarette dangling from his fingers. In the dim light of the evening, the glowing red tip stood out.
He paused, then approached him.
“Henry, you should cut back on the smoking,” he advised gently, his voice as calm as always.
Henry lazily lifted his eyes to meet his gaze. The two of them stood at nearly the same height, silently confronting each other.
Cyrus spoke first, “If there’s nothing else, I’ll be on my way.”
Henry flicked the ash off his cigarette and suddenly asked, “Was your visit to the countryside for volunteer work a coincidence, or is there something more to it?”
He no longer beat around the bush, asking directly. His question was sharp.
Cyrus lowered his gaze briefly before glancing at the streetlight. He thought back to the scene earlier, when he and Shana had stood together, the crowd teasing them, calling them the perfect match.
His expression softened. He looked at Henry, speaking slowly, word by word, “It could be a coincidence, or it could be something more.”
A menace rose in Henry’s eyes.
His voice turned icy as he warned, “Cyrus, she’s my wife”
Cyrus smiled gently, seemingly unfazed by Henry’s warning. He lightly reminded him, “If you don’t cherish her, someone else will.”
With that, he walked away, disappearing into the night.

After dinner, Shana lingered beside Audrey. The two chatted away until, without realizing it, the night had grown late.
Audrey, whether out of genuine tiredness or something else, didn’t give her a chance to protest and insisted she go back to Henry.
Shana had originally wanted to sleep with Audrey to avoid being in the same room as the sc*mbag, but now that plan was ruined. She could only slowly make her way back to her room.
All that lit the room was a dim nightlight. Her bed was occupied by the tall man, who lay with his back to her, still exuding the same cold, unapproachable air.
Naturally, Shana ignored him. After a quick shower, she grabbed a blanket, spread it out on the floor, and lay down.
She was exhausted from the day.
As soon as she turned off the light, the man who had appeared to be asleep suddenly opened his eyes, his gaze burning with unbridled fury.
