Shana hurriedly ran to the guest room, shut the door, and locked it with swift efficiency.
Soon after, Henry chased her, banging on the door in frustration. “Shana, come out!”

She wasn’t foolish. She knew that stepping out in this situation could lead to all sorts of trouble. That sc*undrel had no sense of loyalty. Just because his heart
as with Kate didn’t mean he would remain faithful to her.
But Shana wasn’t like him. For her, love and sex couldn’t be separated. She only wanted to be with someone she loved–if there was no love, there was no interest.
Although the guest room bed wasn’t as luxurious as the master bedroom’s, Shana lay down, trying to make herself comfortable. The pampered attitude she’d developed over the past three years began to fade. After all, what would happen if they ended up divorced?
At some point, she would return to the ordinary life.
Henry stood at the door, his face cold, listening to the silence from within. His tongue pressed harshly against the roof of his mouth.
No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t wake someone who was pretending to sleep. Finally, in frustration, he kicked the door with force.
Back in the master bedroom, he lay down, eyes closed, trying to fall asleep.
The minutes dragged on, and he found he couldn’t fall asleep. Instead, his mind swirled with images of Shana–her irritating expressions.
A few minutes later, he suddenly sat up, looking down at a very uncomfortable part of his body that had hardened.

Grinding his teeth, he got up, stormed into the bathroom, turned on the cold water, and let it pour down, trying to cool off the raging heat in his body.
The next morning.
Shana slept soundly through the night, waking up to bright daylight. She had enjoyed a full, peaceful -sleep, feeling refreshed and cheerful.
When she returned to the master bedroom, Henry had already gotten up and was tying his tie in front of the full–length mirror. As she passed by, she glanced at him and was taken aback.
In the mirror, his face was icy, and for the first time in ages, he had dark circles under his eyes.
His black eyes locked onto hers, filled with endless resentment.

Shana was an experienced woman. She was no stranger to such expressions and understood exactly what it meant. She didn’t hide her glee and bluntly asked, “Mr. Floyd, feeling unfulfilled?”
Thinking about it, their sexual life had been frequent in the past, and now that things were falling apart, it had been a while since they’d been intimate. He was a normal man, and one who was more energetic than most. If he wasn’t getting what he wanted, his mood would naturally be affected.
Henry snorted. “What do you think?”
Even his voice was full of bitterness.
Shana nodded, then unexpectedly hugged him from behind, speaking in a sweet, considerate tone. “As your wife, I should be the one to fulfill your needs.”
Her sudden embrace startled Henry, who hadn’t expected such a surprise!
Was she thinking it over all night and now ready to settle down?
A barely noticeable smile tugged at the corners of his lips. He knew Shana couldn’t really want a divorce. Now that she realized her mistake, he, being magnanimous, could let it slide.
Henry turned around, wrapping his arms around her waist, pulling her forcefully toward him. His large hand gripped the back of her head, and he leaned down to kiss her.
Just then, Shana turned her head, dodging the kiss. “No, that’s a different price!”
Henry was speechless.
This woman was purposely torturing him.
Feeling furious, he pinched her waist, the pent–up desire from the previous night overwhelming him. He was so consumed by his desire that he asked, “How much do you want? I’ll give it to you!”
Shana sneered internally.
Indeed, a man’s brain became useless once his desire took control–even Henry wasn’t an exception.
She blinked her dark eyes innocently and boldly said, “I want half your fortune when we divorce!”
Henry’s movements came to a halt as if someone had poured a bucket of cold water over him. In the next instant, he shoved her away. “Are you playing with me again?”
“Oh, you figured it out?” Shana admitted openly, then purposefully glanced at his body and smiled with a playful glint in her eyes. “Mr. Floyd, since you can’t bear to part with half your wealth, I can’t help you. If you truly cannot handle it, perhaps you should take matters into your own hands.”
Henry’s face turned ashen with rage. “Shana, you’re quite something!”
With that, he grabbed his coat and car keys and stormed out, slamming the door behind him.
Shana lifted her gaze, her lips curling into a victorious smile as she watched herself in the mirror.
She had done it on purpose–she had intentionally made Henry leave so that she could get some peace. If he didn’t release his anger, she knew she wouldn’t be able to avoid the consequences. They remained

And recently, his behavior had been strange. He was always around, trying to please her, and more than once, she almost lost control.
She feared that she might once again shut her eyes, block out her heart, and fall helplessly back into his
arms.
After finishing up in the bathroom, Shana heard her phone ring. Looking at the caller ID, she saw it was Brian. She slid her finger across the screen and answered.
“Hello?”
Brian’s cheerful voice came through. “Shana, you haven’t forgotten that my birthday is in a few days, right?”
“Of course not.” Shana put the phone on speaker, picking up some skincare products as she rubbed her face.
“Great! This year, Gillian doesn’t want to go out to celebrate. She wants to cook at home and show off her skills!”
Brian laughed cheerfully, “Make sure you come back on time.”
Shana hesitated for a moment before replying, “Alright, I’ll be there.”
After hanging up, she furrowed her brow.
Gillian had always disliked her, and Shana had only tolerated her out of respect for Brian. To avoid conflict, they usually avoided seeing each other.
In the past, every year, Brian would host a banquet and invite many friends to join in the party. With so many people around, she and her aunt could coexist peacefully, as both valued their reputation.
But Brian’s comment made it clear this year would be a small, family–only dinner.
She didn’t think Gillian would be thrilled to share a pleasant meal with her. She couldn’t help but wonder what kind of trouble Gillian was planning to stir up this time.
Shana pushed these thoughts aside for the moment, shaking her head and dismissing thern.
In the afternoon, she met up with Cheryl for a shopping trip to buy Brian a birthday gift.
Brian had a fondness for luxury watches, and a new model caught Shaña’s attention. Without a second thought, she had it wrapped up.
Cheryl looked at the price tag, clicking her tongue. “Shana, I have to say, you really spare no expense for your uncle.”
Before, when she had Henry’s unlimited black card, Shana had spent money without blinking an eye. But now, her situation had changed, and she was still willing to spend a fortune on a watch.

Logically speaking, such a person was usually selfish and petty, but he had raised Shana well and never treated her harshly. There was no fault to find with this kindness.
