Chapter 12: The “Harem” of the Big Shots.
“So yesterday you just met Sebastian and do nothing?”
Phoebe’s face was filled with disbelief; she seemed convinced something romantic had to have happened.
To be honest, I had also thought I would struggle to fall asleep last night, but I ended drifting off so easily.
“But I must say, the werewolves from the North are incredibly sexy.”
Kala looked quite pleased, a long–lost smile gracing her face.
“Even so, we need to keep our spirits up.”
Since I arrived here, life had become a bit too easy.

“As long as you pay a little attention, it should be fine. Compared to Martell, I found Mr. Sebastian to be more patient.”
“Are you suggesting that has something to do with the bed?”
The two women were in high spirits, even joking around.
Since I became aware of the world, I had been taught that the North was backward, but just one day here shattered that perception.
Everything from clothing to food here was no different from other regions; I was even surprised by the amount of food I could enjoy.
“If Elliott came to find you now, would you still want to leave with him?”
Phoebe cautiously asked, and hearing that name sent a páng of pain through my chest.
Did I still have feelings for him?
I blamed my emotions on fate; separation might have made me sad, but anger robbed me of the strength to miss this guy.
“If he still wants to shoulder the responsibilities of an Alpha, he should stay in our territory and not cause more innocent warriors to die. He is already a father to two children, and Courteney needs him. Fate has drawn a line between us.”
I surprised myself with how calmly I could say these words.
My feelings for Elliott had grown complex; I knew I wouldn’t see him again, nor would I
see Aaron.
So I hoped Courteney would treat him well; that was my only wish as a mother.

Elliott wasn’t in the wrong; it was fate that led him to someone better suited for him.
Compared to Alphas from other regions, he had done remarkably well.
I picked up a small roll and took a bite while Phoebe and Kala continued to discuss last night’s anecdotes.
“When I left, Martell reminded me not to call them Dark Alphas; no one likes that. To survive, we must be cautious.”
“It seems you had a wonderful evening yesterday. He looked a bit fierce, not as gentlemanly as an Alpha. Are you sure nothing happened?”
I touched Phoebe’s nose on her curious face and earnestly told her,
“Nothing happened, and this situation will continue.”
I’m only looking out for you! Melissa, you idiot, no matter what, don’t hold onto expectations for Elliott, and don’t do anything foolish for him.”
Feeling her sincere concern, I embraced her gently.
Noticing the mark on my skin that hadn’t faded, Kala said sternly,
“You need to be careful; Sebastian is someone who takes what he wants by force. After all, your mark still exists, and Sebastian might see it as a provocation from Elliott.”
“I actually look forward to facing such a skilled opponent as a warrior.”
After lunch, I was sent back to my room to freshen up..
The dresses they prepared were sexy and revealing. I chose a short blue–purple Gothic- style dress made of lightweight lace and soft silk..
The exquisite tailoring perfectly outlined my figure, gently embracing half of my alluring chest and showcasing my elegant, captivating charm.
I kept my makeup simple, applying my favorite nude lip gloss.
I had no idea what the occasion was, but I hoped to remain unnoticed.
Upon entering the hall, I discovered many women gathered there. Kala’s outfit was as daring and fiery as ever, but what caught my attention was the complete absence of the mark on her neck..
As for Phoebe, she was still struggling with the donut in her hand; her mark had also faded. considerably, making her look the happiest among the three of us.
Before I could figure out what was going on with these women, a dark–haired woman approached us with a few women.
“When did second–hand goods get to stand with us?”

“Are you even worthy of being here?”
“Maybe Basil and Martell made a mistake and sent them over.”
“Don’t think that just because Mr. Agrigent ‘took care‘ of you last night, you’ve become special. He has a lover and even children; even if you can be by his side, it’s only temporary.”
She stepped closer, her tone serious.
“So what if you’re the Luna? You were still discarded, weren’t you? In this place, you’d better listen to me.”
Watching her put on an air of superiority, I couldn’t help but curl my lips into a faint.

Such a person wasn’t worth my effort.
Her–provocations were merely a result of our being the newcomers among the Lunas.
It was clear what these women’s statuses were.
When Courteney first arrived. I had felt the same jealousy and fear.

Kala had no intention of tolerating her attitude and was ready to confront her.
I stepped in to stop her, no longer concealing my strength.

“Is Luna’s strength meant for you to bully others like this?”
Thinking this would intimidate me, she was truly naive.
“Don’t think that my silence indicates fear; I might just not bother to deal with you.”
Phoebe stuck out her tongue at her and rolled her eyes.
Before the woman could say more, a maid rushed over.
“I’m terribly sorry, but you two need to come with us to another location. Mr. Agrigent and the captain of the guards invite you both to dance.”
The dark–haired woman’s face immediately darkened upon hearing this.

Under the maid’s watchful gaze, she turned and left without a word.
Phoebe waved cheerfully at us.
“What was that place just now?”
I asked the maid.
“Luna. That is our ‘harem‘ area.”
This was the first time I had heard that term. Was the dark Alpha still operating under a royal court model?
They truly had no habit of valuing women.
“Those women, have they all slept with them?”
Kala frowned in disgust,
“Not exactly. Although the women here can be freely chosen by the three lords, they rarely get involved.”
“By the way, does Sebastian have a daughter? A little girl, maybe four or five years old, possibly…”
I was still thinking about the girl in the tower when I started asking.
But the maid quickly interrupted me, clearly avoiding the topic.
“You’ve arrived. The lord is waiting for you behind this door.”
She pointed at the door ahead and gestured for us to proceed.
Seeing that I didn’t press the issue, she knocked on the door and ushered us inside.
Basil, holding some documents, whistled approvingly when he saw the two of us all dressed up.
Martell warmly welcomed Kala to his side.
And I could see the admiration in Sebass eyes as he looked at me.
