Chapter 56: Obtaining Her Hiding Location
“They just asked me to pass messages for Winnie Harold, keep an eye out, and told me that the big shots behind it all wanted us to complete the mission quickly. Only if the other regions kept paying their taxes could the Northern Territory develop further. If the other regions refused, we’d have to use force.”
The maid spoke as though all her strength had been drained. Sebastian looked at her, finding these people both foolish and laughable.
“Then, did Winnie Harold replicate my signature and seal with the help of that person behind you?” Sebastian asked. I found it odd–this woman shouldn’t have had the ability to do so. Her power wasn’t enough to access such confidential information.
“It doesn’t seem like it… The signature and seal came from the council. It seems there are special people who provide this information to Winnie Harold.”
Hearing her words, Sebastian’s expression grew even darker. I now understood what he was trying to do–he was probing to find out who else was involved, clearing away any obstacles all at once.
“Tell me the exact location of your mistress. Where is her computer? How does she usually contact him, and when did she come to the castle to carry out these actions?” Sebastian’s relentless questioning made the maid swallow nervously.
“Alpha, perhaps we should give her a glass of water first.”
I looked at her, still feeling a bit sorry for her.
“That person contacted Winnie Harold the night three days prior… She arrived at the castle under the guise of her family status on a certain night three days later, and the incident happened within the following week.”
The maid said this, likely thinking it would satisfy Sebastian, but I realized she was lying.
Sebastian wasn’t the one to directly handle such matters. He rarely dealt with this type of paperwork in the office; the ones truly responsible for signing and stamping documents were Beta and his other brothers…

I had realized she was hiding parts of the truth that were unfavorable to her, so I decided to press further, using deception skills directly to extract the information I needed.
“No, that’s not it! The guards can confirm they saw Winnie Harold, and as for whether this has anything to do with Geraint, I have no idea.“,
The maid was clearly panicking, her words a jumble as she hastily tried to explain, likely unaware of what she was even saying.
“So, you’re saying Winnie Harold gave you the signed documents and you simply swapped them?” I intentionally kept the office location vague, knowing that if she truly knew something, she would realize the documents hadn’t been placed in Sebastian’s office.
Let alone the fact that there were no guards in the corridor, while Geraint and Martell’s offices were heavily guarded, meaning that it was certainly Winnie Harold who had made the swap!

I didn’t expose her lie, just nodded slightly.
“Good. You’ve done well. This matter has been going on for some time now, and I hope someone will be willing to testify about it.”
I spoke, and she fell silent.
“At first, I really didn’t want to harm you or your child. I only hoped you would cooperate and tell us what exactly happened. After all, you know that Winnie Harold committed treason, yet you still haven’t told me the truth. If you had just spoken openly from the start, Sebastian would have/treated you with kindness and mercy.”
I sighed. We knew her role in all of this was probably just to act as a lookout, and even now, she intended to conceal the truth for Winnie Harold.

“I know you never went up to that floor, and you had no dealings with Geraint. This means the person behind all of this might not be him after all. Our people tracked down Winnie Harold and your son last night. They’ll bring her back today, and I’ve already closed off your last escape route.
