Chapter 26 She Disgusted Him!
Nathaniel’s tall figure settled beside her, his eyes fixed on her.
“Celeste, how do you know about antiques? You recognized the fake antiques at a glance. Also, when did you meet Carter?” he asked, his voice calm.
His posture was as passive and charming as ever, but a deep anger simmered beneath the surface.
“Mr. Rowe, we’re divorced. What I know is none of your business, and who I associate with is also none of your business,” Celeste replied, her voice equally calm and indifferent. It was the man she loved most, but he had also hurt her the deepest.
When she first arrived here, she was covered in wounds. It was Nathaniel’s appearance that helped her slowly heal. His gentleness and kindness allowed her to gradually come to terms with the reality of Elias’s death.
But…
Celeste lowered her eyes slightly, feeling his familiar scent wash over her senses, and a pang of heartache pierced her.

“Celeste, I suddenly feel like you’re a stranger,” Nathaniel said slowly, a dazzling smile playing on his lips.
Celeste sneered, raising her eyes to meet his cold, emotionless gaze. “Mr. Rowe also feels like a stranger to me.”
The words “Mr. Rowe” struck a nerve in Nathaniel, and he
clearly heard the sound of that nerve snapping.
He abruptly pulled her into his arms, his hands gripping her
waist.
He paused, surprised. Her waist was much thicker than
before.
“You’ve gained weight.”
Celeste was taken aback and forcefully pried his hand away, fearful he might harm the child and also worried he might discover the child’s existence.
“Let go,” she demanded, struggling angrily. She knew how to fight, but Nathaniel was even better at it. She dared not exert too much force, fearing she might harm the child.
Nathaniel swiftly b + down and kissed her lips.

The thought of him kissing Madelynn made her feel nauseous.
She pushed Nathaniel away forcefully.
She sat down on the ground, overwhelmed by nausea.

Nathaniel’s handsome face turned dark. “Celeste, you…”
She disgusted him!
Celeste lifted her eyes, her indifferent gaze piercing as she
stared at him. “Nathaniel, we’re divorced. Please, have some
dignity. Kissing other women makes you repulsive to me. Stay away from me in the future…”
She couldn’t even finish her sentence before another wave of
vomiting overtook her.
Celeste quickly got up and ran out, needing to go to the
bathroom.
Nathaniel’s dark eyes filled with a hint of bloodlust, his gaze
unreadable.
He gently stroked his lips where he had kissed Celeste, his eyes growing even darker.

Celeste vomited in the bathroom for a while, tears streaming down her face. After taking a deep breath, she wiped away her tears and went to the sink to rinse her mouth.
Celeste stared at her reflection, barely recognizing the ghostly face staring back.
Her once–vibrant eyes now looked dull and lifeless, matching Leon’s description.
She stepped back, shaking her head.
“This isn’t me,” she whispered to herself.
“Had I become like this ever since Elias died?”
Leon hadn’t pointed it out, and she had never thought there was anything wrong with herself
But after hearing Leon’s words, she finally noticed her state.
Celeste walked out in a daze, bumping into Madelynn, who was looking for Nathaniel.
“Celeste, what are you doing here?”
Nathaniel wasn’t around, so there was no need for her to be polite to Celeste.

Celeste thought this person was crazy, asking someone why they were in a public place.
“Ms. Hartley, this is a public restroom,” she replied, implying that anyone could be there.
Madelynn’s face darkened. It seemed Nathaniel hadn’t come
to find Celeste. “Where had he gone?”
