Celeste frowned, so it was her. “Why did Madelynn want to frame me?” she said. 

She was already divorced from Nathaniel. She wasn’t in her way. Why wouldn’t she let her go?!

to act.

Celeste said, “Send me the video. Then, inform Finnegan to investigate Madelynn. I want all the information from her childhood to her relationships.”

Celeste looked at Everly. “Everly, you investigate everything about the Hartley family. Their relationships and the business contacts they’ve made. I want all the information thoroughly investigated,” she said. 

She had been living in a daze these past few days and hadn’t investigated carefully.

Thomas pointed to the image of Celeste, painfully crouching down to pick up the photos. His expression was strange. “Mr. Hartley, Celeste knew Elias,” he said. 

Charlie had a square face, thick eyebrows, and blue eyes. He exuded authority without anger. 

Greed flashed in his eyes. “How did Celeste know Elias?” he said. 

Thomas was also surprised. “We found these photos at Elias‘ place a few months ago. I was shocked, too. Celeste knew Elias, and from how they looked in these photos, their relationship was not ordinary,” he said. 

Madelynn crossed her arms and gave a smile. “Without these intimate photos, how could we have gotten Nathaniel and Celeste to divorce?” she said. 

She was tired of playing the good girl in front of Nathaniel. His personality was hard to predict. 

Charlie smiled at his daughter. “Maddie, all these years, I sent you abroad to study. Now, you’ve been hiding your abilities and staying close to Nathaniel. I know it’s been hard on you, but soon, the Hartley family will be the top family in Kinston. Believe in me,” he said.
