“Nate, did you choke? Don’t rush. Drink more slowly.” Madelynn said. She nervously grabbed a napkin to wipe Nathaniel’s lips.

Nathaniel flinched slightly. When he saw Celeste’s smiling eyes, he forced himself to stay still and let Madelynn wipe his mouth.
Celeste’s lips curled up. “Tsk, tsk, tsk. What goes around comes around. Who does heaven ever spare?”
Nathaniel nearly choked to death just drinking the wine.
Madelynn finished wiping Nathaniel’s mouth. She gave Celeste a grateful smile. “Celeste, thank you for your blessing. After we get married, we’ll have children soon. Mrs. Rowe is looking forward to our kids,” she said.
Madelynn said this for Celeste to hear.
After all, Nathaniel’s mother really liked her.
She treated Celeste like a nanny.
Celeste responded smoothly, “Then you’d better give your future mother–in–law several big, fat grandsons. After all, what the Rowe family lacks is grandsons. Since you’re so fertile, Mrs. Rowe will be thrilled to put you on a pedestal.”

Madelynn looked at her smiling. Was she not jealous at all?
Seeing her smile so happily, it felt like punching cotton.
And that line about being so fertile made it seem like she wast calling her a pig.

Madelynn was furious, but she had to hold herself back for now.
That secret had to be uncovered.
“Alright, let’s cal,” Charlie said as he looked at Celeste. He was unable to understand her.
She was so easygoing, not angry at all.
It left him with nothing to say.
Celeste barely ate a few bites at dinner. After dinner, everyone went to the living room to chat.
Celeste knew Jane hadn’t just called her back for dinner. There had to be something else to discuss.
Sure enough, Charlic took out a photo. It was another picture of her with Elias.
Celeste’s expression changed drastically. Her eyes filled with

Madelynn saw her tear–filled eyes and spoke up immediately, “Celeste, you two look so close. Who is he? You’re smiling so brightly in his arms.
Celeste reached out and picked up the photo. Her delicate fingers gently stroked the handsome face of the man in the photo. She slightly parted her lips, smiling sweetly. Thinking of how Nathaniel had judged her as a traitor because of these photos, a rebellious feeling suddenly rose in her heart.

She glanced indifferently at Nathaniel’s devilishly angry face and said in a soft, tender voice, “This is my lover!”
Her words struck Nathaniel like a bolt of lightning.
Knowing was one thing, but hearing her admit it herself. Why did it hurt so much?
“Mr. Hartley, I’d like to know where you got this photo?” Celeste said. She hadn’t expected such an unexpected gain from coming here today.
“Oh! We found this photo while we were organizing a house in the countryside. It was in a locked box. I was surprised when I saw it. You and this boy seemed very close,” Charlie said.
Charlie was telling the truth. The photos were indeed found while sorting through Elias‘ belongings.
He was surprised when he saw Celeste in the photos.

“He disappeared four years ago. Have you met him, Mr. Hartley?” Celeste said as she scrutinized Charlic.
So, Nathaniel got the photos from Charlic.
So, was Elias‘ death related to them?
“Elias, if your death is connected to them.
I will never let them go.
I will risk my life to avenge you.”
Charlie shook his head. “I don’t know him. I just thought he knew you, so I returned the photo,” he said.
Elias was assassinated. His men did it. But another
group
appeared, and that’s why Elias died.
But the map disappeared because of Elias‘ death. His three–year plan was ruined.
More importantly, no one had seen the map. Now that they had found his girlfriend, Celeste was the most likely to have seen it.
Celeste carefully held the photo. The boy in the photo was still smiling brightly. “Thank you, Mr. Hartley! Could I have this photo?” she said.
