Chapter 45 Nails
Nathaniel looked at her with a sharp gaze, saying nothing. He was like an iceberg.
Celeste slightly raised her chin as she looked at him. Her thick, curled lashes tilted upward, with a hint of tears in her eyes. “Nathaniel, don’t forget, you were the one who left first. Just based on a few photos, you decided I betrayed you. In this marriage, you were just playing with me. Besides, you already chose to let go. Once you chose to let go, it meant you loved the wrong person in this marriage.
“In this relationship that you think wasn’t worth it, I admit I lost. So, isn’t it better to end a path that wasn’t right for either of us? Why keep chasing after me?” she said.
Celeste didn’t understand his actions. Actually, Nathaniel was still very immature.
At least in terms of love, besides being domineering, it seemed all that was left was her compromise.
Thinking about it carefully, their divorce was inevitable.
There were too many secrets between them.
If they were truly together, it would be a lifetime of torment.
Though there were regrets, she had willingly experienced it

once.
Nathaniel was just unwilling to let go!
Nathaniel’s eyes were filled with conflicting emotions. He suddenly caught sight of a dark shadow not far away.

His gaze flickered. Ilis voice turned extremely cold and harsh. “Celeste, you think too highly of yourself. I’m not chasing after you. You’re filthy. Don’t dirty my sight. Get lost!”
Celeste’s heart hurt sharply. The light in her clear blue eyes shattered.
She silently turned around and walked toward the car opposite.
She wasn’t paying attention and felt a sudden pain in her foot. She suddenly half–kneeled on the ground.
“Ah…” The pain in her knee, along with a faint smell of blood, snapped her back to reality. She quickly got up. Blood from her knee flowed down her calf.
The sharp pain made her extremely alert.
She was very worried about the child in her belly.
She immediately pulled herself together and walked carefully.
Nathaniel stood behind her. Watching the bright red blood, his fiery gaze was fixed on her back.

He almost lost his mind and went to help her, but the figure in the distance made him stop. He suppressed the raging anger in his besty,
Nathaniel’s chest grew tighter and tighter, as if a heavy hammer was relentlessly pounding his heart. Despite the pain, his face showed no sign of suffering.
“Boss.” Briar said as she got out of the car and helped Celeste.
Celeste’s knee was scraped. She looked down and saw a thumbtack stuck in her knee.
In her moment of distraction, she had stepped on the tack, causing her to fall.
Celeste looked back at the ground and saw a mess of scattered thumbtacks.
She frowned and glanced at Nathaniel, who was standing still. She said nothing, got in the car, and told Briar to take her home.
Nathaniel also noticed the nails on the ground. It was clear that someone had deliberately placed them there.
He stood there quietly, his lips turning pale from being bitten.
“Mr. Rowe,” his assistant, Luke Collins, said as he approached from a distance.
Nathaniel suddenly opened his cold eyes. He walked over, opened the back door, and got into the car.

He asked, “What’s with the nails at the door?”

Sitting in the car, Luke spoke quictly, “It was Mr. Hartley’s assistant who placed them. Earlier, I saw him sneaking around, scattering something there. I didn’t see what he was putting down, but when I saw Mrs. Rowe come out and fall, I realized he had deliberately put the nails on the ground.”
Nathaniel’s sharp brows furrowed slightly. He crossed his long legs gracefully and gave a cold glance toward the villa entrance before slowly looking away. “What else have you found out?” he said.
