I kept begging the hearse driver from the funeral home to please take Dad for cremation first, but he kept refusing because I couldn’t pay.
Just as I was about to drop to my knees in front of him.
Jasper walked over slowly with Vera in his arms.
“Baby, does seeing her like this make you feel better? If you’re still pissed, hubby’s got your back.”
He leaned close to Vera, cooing at her like she was a child, like she was some priceless treasure,
The two of them stopped in front of me and the driver.
Jasper’s eyes were sharp as he spoke:
“Summer, just get on your knees and apologize to Vera. Make her happy, and I’ll take care of your dad’s funeral.”
He turned to the hearse driver. “Is a hundred grand enough? Two hundred? Five hundred?”
The driver was stunned by his presence, nodding frantically after a long pause. “Yeah, yeah, five hundred’s more than enough! Miss, you’ve got rich friends! Don’t beg me–beg him!”
I shook my head miserably.
Jasper just smirked. “Five hundred’s pocket change to make my wife happy. Kneel for Vera, and I’ll give the driver five hundred grand so your daddy can rest in peace.”
Vera’s face finally brightened up.
Looking at Dad still lying there, I had no choice but to grit my teeth and crawl over to Vera step by step.
I slowly got on my knees in front of her.
“I was wrong. Please punish me, ma’am.”
I pressed my forehead to the ground, tears hitting the pavement hard.
“Wrong about what?”
Vera’s voice was excited.
“I shouldn’t have upset you, ma’am.”
“Wrong!”
She suddenly got worked up, screaming angrily: “When you were using your slutty tricks to seduce my husband, did you ask me to forgive you then? Now that your dad found out you were seducing a married man and jumped off a building in shame, you’re sorry? Isn’t it a little late?”
The crowd that had been pitying me moments before started pointing and cursing at me after Vera’s words.
I stayed face–down on the ground, couldn’t lift my head.
Seeing my silence, she suddenly went berserk and started kicking me viciously.
“That’s what you get for being a whore, for seducing him, just die-”
My post–surgery body couldn’t handle this abuse. I felt sharp pain in my abdomen and warm liquid flowing out.
“She’s bleeding!”
“Someone’s gonna die-”

The crowd screamed when they saw all the blood.
Jasper finally pulled the violent Vera away, holding her close and comforting her,
“Okay, okay, you hit her, you yelled at her, time to calm down or hubby’s gonita worry about you”
The two of them were all lovey dovey, not giving a damn if I lived or died.
“Help me!”
I reached out trying to grab Jasper for help. Dad’s funeral still wasn’t handled–I couldn’t die yet.
He gave his assistant a look, and finally I was rushed to the ER.
I barely survived and woke up alone in the hospital room, my abdomen burning with paini.
The door opened. Vera walked in.
Her eyes gleamed with vicious light. Too many people knew about today’s incident. Someone had already traced the video back to her identity and exposed that she was barren.
She held up her phone, letting out a harsh laugh: “Summer, want your dad to rest in peace?”
I went ice cold instantly. “What are you gonna do?”
“Let’s play a game.”
She reached out and ripped open my hospital gown, her eyes rolling with overwhelming malice.
“Click! Click!”
She pointed the phone at my body, rapidly taking photos.
I tried to stop her, but she got even more brazen, even pointing the phone below my wound.
“Summer, think you’re hot shit having this, huh? Feel good sleeping with someone else’s man?
I’m helping you out here. I’ll sell these photos for two hundred each. The money from whoring yourself out will be just enough to bury your father,
haha!”
I desperately tried to cover myself, but Vera had completely lost it
“Smack!”
A vicious slap across my face. Her eyes were red as she screamed hysterically: “Why do you get to be a complete woman? You should be dead!”
Slaps rained down on my face like hail.
That’s when Jasper walked in.
He rushed over and held Vera tight: “Baby, be good, don’t get upset. That kind of woman isn’t worth it.”
