The others in the auditorium saw the online buzz on their phones.

Helen harrumphed. Lily was her granddaughter, and she wouldn’t hold it against her. But she wouldn’t let Evelyn off the hook. 

“Lily, I know you miss the Reed family. I’ll give you another chance. Think carefully. Do you want to stay with your mother or your father?”

She glared at Evelyn. She wasn’t willing to apologize, but the situation was forcing her. “I think that’s unnecessary,” Mr. White said, his voice colder. You haven’t even realized your mistake. You simply know you’re finished.“.
