“Caleb?” Savannah noticed the flush on his ears; his expression was unlike anything she’d seen. before.“What was Evelyn yelling about?”
His expression was enigmatic.“She’s still giving me a hard time.” He even questioned if it was really Evelyn on the other end.
“Evelyn’s probably menopausal, Savannah chuckled. They say women age faster after having kids.”
After her outburst, Evelyn handed the phone to the community manager, who froze.She gestured for him to take it and he practically fled, afraid he’d get yelled at too. Evelyn wanted to leave the villa. “Let’s visit my professor, okay, Lily?”
“Okay!”
Evelyn called Damon before leaving, buying flowers and high–quality Xuan paper for Professor Sterling.

“I’m looking for work,” she confessed. “But I only have a bachelor’s degree, and I’ve been a housewife…
He’d had high hopes for her, only to be disappointed.All his students were exceptional, recognized nationally and in their fields.She’d been his most promising student before choosing love, dropping out of academia for five years, and now, a divorced single mother struggling to find even a manual labor job.

“I have several patents I want to sell for a good price.”
While there was demand, as a housewife, she lacked the leverage to negotiate. She needed Professor Sterling’s reputation.
He scoffed, “I won’t help you sell your patents.”
Evelyn’s eyes fell; his refusal wasn’t surprising.He had his pride.
A magnetic voice cut through the air. “Dad, why are you sitting here? Let me help you to bed.”
