Chapter 1
Right before the tour my lead dancer role was suddenly taken away.
I rushed to demand an explanation in person but in my distress,I missed a step and tumbled down the stairs.
Enduring the pain, fumbled for my phone to call 999,only for a notification to pop up on my screen.
BlueSky Dance Company. Welcoming our new lead dancer @Olivia Wright along with our sponsor @Charles
Carter.”
The attached photo featured two familiar, smiling faces–my husband of seven years and his precious little canary.
Charles had his arm around Olivia’s waist.pressing a kiss to her cheek.
Olivia clung to his neck.blushing sweetly.
Wiping the blood from the corner of my lips,I coldly posted a photo of my marriage certificate in the comments.
“Is your company’s new production called The Homewrecker Alliance?”
It didn’t take long for Charles to call.
“Charlotte Edwards what the hell are you doing? How many times do I have to tell you? Olivia and I are just putting
on a show.”
I sniffed. “Charles, what gives you the right to take away my lead dancer role?”
There was a brief silence. “…Are you at BlueSky?”
Another pause. Then, with a careless tone,he added.
“Olivia wanted the lead role as a birthday gift. I didn’t realize it was yours.”
“Now be a good girl and go online to clarify that the marriage certificate was photoshopped.”
I suddenly found it laughable.
He didn’t even know where I worked, yet he remembered what Olivia wanted for her birthday.
“And why,exactly,would I fake a marriage certificate?”
Charles’s tone remained indifferent. “Just say you’re a fan of mine.”
“Charles, what do you take me for?”
He sighed. “Charlotte Edwards, we’ve been married for seven years. We’re practically an old couple. Olivia is young; there’s no need to be petty with her.”

Chapter 1
He must have forgotten–1 married him before I even graduated college. Seven years of marriage and yet I was only one year older than Olivin.
“Charles I fell down the stairs. My Ing hurts.”
“Charlotte Edwards it’s just an apology and a clarification. It’s not that hard.”
Charles sounded disappointed.
“When did you become so unreasonable?”
Drip. Drip.
Large teardrops mixed with blood fell onto the back of my hand. I covered my mouth and ended the call.
When he called again.I silenced my phone.
I dialed for an ambulance instead. When the paramedics arrived, they asked if I had any family to accompany me
“No.” I replied numbly, tilting my head back. “They’re all dead.”
Halfway to the hospital,a new message from Charles popped up.
“Charlotte Edwards you made Olivia faint from stress. Get to the hospital right now and apologize in person. Bring an appropriate gift–there will be reporters.”
“Don’t be difficult. You’re the one who started this mess.”
My hands trembled as I typed two words.
Dream on.
Then, I turned off my phone, locking myself away in a world of silence.
At the Hospital
While waiting for my X–ray results in the corridor,I overheard a familiar voice.
“Dr. Young,I’m Charlotte Edwards’s boyfriend. If there’s anything she needs, contact me directly.”
I looked up–only to meet Charles’s gaze.
His steps faltered for a moment before he resumed his conversation with the doctor as if I were a stranger.
The faint citrus scent on him made my stomach clench.
I nearly fled, but before I could, Charles turned back.
He moved quickly, his expression unreadable as he saw me still standing there. A trace of helplessness crossed his
face.

Chapter 1
“Charlotte Edwards, have you thought things through?”
“I already told you–dream on.” I shoved him aside and limped in the opposite direction.
I felt his gaze land on my injured leg.growing colder by the second.
“Charlotte Edwards, are you faking an injury just to avoid apologizing?”
I ignored him.only wanting to escape the hallway reeking of Olivia’s perfume.
A strong hand grabbed my shoulder, yanking me back.
I stumbled.sharp pain shooting through my leg.
“Ah!”
I couldn’t help but cry out.
Charles frowned,clearly displeased. “You’re such a disappointment.”
Without hesitation,he reached into my pocket and took my phone.
“Give it back!”
I reached for it,but he impatiently shoved me aside.
“Jim,hold her.”
The bodyguard was tall and strong. With a slight grip,I had no way to struggle free.
“Charles!!”
A mask was thrown at me. “Cover her mouth. Stop the screaming.”
My wrists were locked in a vice grip. My injured leg throbbed unbearably. My mouth was smothered.
I could do nothing but let the tears stream down my face.
And watch, helplessly,as Charles used my phone to log into my account and post a public apology.
“I sincerely apologize for my previous comment under @BlueSky Dance Company’s post. I am not married to Mr. Charles. I was simply an overzealous fan who harbored some selfish thoughts. I also apologize to @Olivia and @Charles for
