Chapter 12
Rogerio with his usual vast network managed to get his hands on a video of Charles dining with the head of the BlueSky Dance Troupe.
Using investment as bait, Charles pressured the head to replace the main dancer, and this quickly spread across the
internet.
The pure love warrior turned into a scumbag and the innocent true love became the third party everyone wanted
to attack.
The reversal seemed to happen in the blink of an eye.
Turns out letting go wasn’t as hard as I imagined.
I left a comment under Charles’s proposal to Olivia. “Congratulations, but don’t forget to divorce me first.”
Soon after my comment,Charles deleted the proposal video.
He quickly messaged me privately. “Let’s meet and talk.”
I replied with one word. “Okay.”
There had to be a final decision between Charles and me.
We agreed to meet at Yellow Mountain.
When we had first settled in London, Charles would take me to the mountain for dates.
Back then, when we didn’t have a penny to spare,he would pick wildflowers from the mountaintop to make a garland or a necklace for me.
Later, when conditions improved a bit,on my birthday,he would donate incense money to the church in the
mountains.
He had also knelt before the Buddha statue, praying earnestly. “Bodhisattva, please bless my Rebecca to be safe and
happy.”
Those words echoed in my mind, but the people and things had changed.
Charles looked at my leg. “Your injury hasn’t fully healed. Why didn’t you let me pick you up?”
I couldn’t help but mock. “When my leg injury was worse, didn’t you still force me to be your backup dancer?”
Charles froze, his face showing some discomfort. “Charlotte Edwards,I was wrong about that. I apologize.”
“But you can’t completely ignore my situation and then suddenly air everything on the internet.”
“Do you know how big the loss to the company is this time? All my years of effort have almost gone down the drain!”

Chapter 12
The more Charles spoke, the more agitated he became, and the initial guilt seemed to vanish.
I looked at him calmly, wondering what absurd things he would say next.
“Forget the past,” Charles exhaled, “Who told me I was unlucky enough to marry you?”
He still spoke with extreme confidence. “The money lost can be earned back, but Olivia’s reputation has almost been ruined because of you.”
Charles studied my expression.and when he saw I didn’t argue,a smile curled on his lips.
“Charlotte Edwards, post a statement online saying our marriage is essentially over. We had already agreed to divorce, and Miss Wright is not the third party.”
This was the biggest joke I’d heard all year!
“Charles,do you think the netizens are fools? Since we’ve already agreed to divorce, why would I still post our marriage certificate?”
Charles furrowed his brow as usual. “You can say you are still emotionally attached, unwilling to let go,and that’s why you’re causing a scene.”
My disdain was so obvious that Charles turned his face away uncomfortably.
“Don’t worry,I won’t say anything wrong in front of the media again.”
“You’ve always wanted to go to Paris, right? Once this is all settled,I’ll accompany you.”
“Don’t,” I coldly refused,“President Carter’s companionship on a trip is something I can’t afford. You can save it for
Olivia.”
Charles sighed softly. “Are you still jealous? Charlotte Edwards, don’t you know that acting like this is really
annoying?”
“Whether I go to Paris or not is up to you. After we go down the mountain, make sure to hold a press conference and clear things up.”
“Most importantly, you need to explain things to Rogerio.”
Charles’s shamelessness completely changed my perception of him.
I took a deep breath. “Charles, why should I sacrifice my reputation to protect a cheating husband and an immoral third party?”
Charles’s face darkened. “Charlotte Edwards,is it necessary to speak so harshly?”
“I’m just stating the facts. If you don’t want things to get awkward,” I pulled out the divorce papers I had prepared earlier,“then sign them.”
Charles stared at the papers, his expression changing from stunned to arrogant ridicule.

Chapter 12
“Charlotte Edwards do you think threatening me with a divorce will make me helpless?”
“Get this straight–without me you’re still the scum everyone hates,”
When he said those final words,my heart, which I thought was already frozen, shattered into pieces once again.
Charles looked at me disdainfully. “You don’t really think Rogerio helped you out because he likes you,do you?”
“Hahaha,” his laugh was full of malice, “Charlotte Edwards, you’re not young anymore, and someone like Rogerio wouldn’t even be interested in a worn out thing that I’ve already played with.”
Slap-
1 slapped Charles across the face.
“You really disgust me.”
My hand was still trembling slightly, and the touch of his palm left an instinctual feeling of discomfort in me.
